For 1976, councillors and PUC members will receive $40 a regular meeting attended and $15 for special meetings that they attend. The Reeve and PUC chairman will receive $50 for regular yitaeetings attended. , The change, was made to meet the statutes set down in the Municipal Act. To meet the regulations, the councillors and members yearly stipends were divided. Last year councillors and PUC members were paid $450 for the year and the Reeve and PUC chairman were paid $600, Clerk Bob Heirs salary !for the year will jump from $10,000 to $12,000. His pay day will also be changed to every second Friday, Ernie Davis, who is stepping down as works superintendent for village, will receive $8,500 as well as a $25 a month car allowance in his new capacity as by-law en- forcer, His replacement, Gary Maxwell, will be paid $9,500 as works superintendent. Council also discussed the problems that are arising in the sanitary sewers that have been installed. It_was recommended that they not go around the house but under the basement floor. The most important part of the hook up is that which takes place inside the house. It was also mentioned that one of the ways problems are arising is the use of the drains. People should not put anything into the sanitary sewer system that does not come out of the tap, and will in this way avoid many future problems. sneer!
