On December 21, 1976 the
Elves at the North Pole set up
picket lines with signs saying,
MORE TIME OFF, TOO MUCH.
WORK.
Santa was very surprised, but
then he realized that all the
Elves had been working night
and day for the past few months.
He thought about it for a few
hours and then he came up with
the answer, he'd set up three
shifts!
The Elves thought it was a
marvellous idea but Santa knew
it had one problem, the progress
would be a little slower, but if
they worked steadily they might
make kin time for the deadline,
which was. Christmas Eve.
Then Santa set up the shifts,
morning which was from 9 a.m.
to 4 p.m., afternoon which was
from 4 p.m. to 12 p.m. and night
which was from 12 a.m. to 8 a.m.
So if Santa is a little late this
year forgive him because it
wasn't all his fault.

Johnny had noticed lately how
everyone wasn't arguing,
cleaning their plates and doing
the dishes without being told,
Mary washed, Becky dried and
Johnny put away.
When I asked mother she said,
"Christmas is the day that Jesus
Christ was born."
"Who is Jesus Christ?" asked
Johnny. Jesus Christ is the
founder of Christian religion.
"Why do we have Christmas
mother?"
"We have Christmas so we can
celebrate the yearly celebration
of Jesus Christ's birthday. Son
we celebrate your birthday every
February 22nd, right."
"Yes".
"Well we celebrate Jesus
Christ's birthday on december
25th." "Now do you
understand?"
"Yes, mother, better than
Becky and Mary explained it,"
The next day was Saturday,
Johnny wanted to know some
more on Christmas. This time he
went to his father.
"Dad will you please tell me
about Mary, Joseph and Jesus."
"All right my son," "Mary so
much wanted a baby and so did
Joseph. God told her she would
one day have a son who will save
the people from their sins."
"Dad what are sins?"
"Sins are breaking the laws of
God. Mary and Joseph were
travelling to Bethlehem on
Christmas Eve. They couldn't
find an Inn with any rooms
They later departed to Egyp,t,
That my boy is the story-'rie,

Christmas Eve
By JOE STRAUGHAN

Exeter P.S.
On every Christmas Eve, the
air, like a glove, brings peace,
tranquility, mirth and manna to
the earth.
In the souls of all men, they
realized that the fire of
everlasting love is highest on
Christmas Eve. You may notice
this as you hang decorations.
Your entire being feels strange
with love, mirth and friendship,
Want and trouble are kept out as
all goods are seasoned with love
from above. This is what
Christmas Eve is all about.
