meeting of Unit 2 of Hensall
United Church Women on
Monday evening, with Mrs. Ron
Wareing in the chair, She
welcomed everyone and read a
Christmas poem. Mrs. Verne
Alderdice conducted the
devotional, reading the Christ-
mas story, in modern language.
Christmas carols were sung.
The business was conducted by
Mrs. Carl Payne, Unit leader.

flowers in the sanctuary in
January. She also read a little
poem, "Snow White Foal" and
read a letter from a missionary in
Brazil after giving a short
background an life in Brazil.
Mrs. Cecil Pepper and Mrs. Carl
Payne read a humorous skit on
"Testing—it's a rat race".
For the study period, Mrs. Ross
Forrest read an article on
Christmas in Germany where the
Christmas season is quite dif-
ferent from how we celebrate it
here. Mrs. Wareing read another
poem and then closed with the
Mizpah benediction. Mrs. Rodger
Venner then conducted a work
period making favours for the
Nursing Home trays for
Christmas. Lunch was served by
Mrs, Bill Mickle.
Unit 4 of Hensall U.C.W.
held their Christmas meeting
on December 9 with Mrs. James
McAllister presiding. She open-
ed the meeting with a Christ-
mas prayer. Mrs. Robert Mc-
Allister gave the devotional
based on the Christmas story
from Luke 2. Mrs. Eric, Luther
told the story of a number of
carols and the ladies sang a
few verses of each carol as
the stories were told. Mrs.
Nan Britton and Mrs, Luther
sang two duets "I Heard the
Bells on Christmas Day" and
"Silent Night". Mrs. McAllist-
er conducted the business when
Mrs. Russell Erratt reported
nine parcels were packed for
the bale. Mrs. Tom Sherritt
reported for the finance. The
meeting closed with Mrs. Peck
and her committee serving
lunch.
Church service
Rev. W. D. Jarvis conducted
service in Carmel Presbyterian
Church on Sunday dispensing the
Holy Communion, The sermon
topic was "Re-joice-be joyful."

the organ and led the choir in the
service of song.

"The Old Old Story" at the
morning service Sunday
December 19 at 10:00 a.m.

er for Hensall putting five on
the score board,
