The W.M.S. of Carmel
Presbyterian Church held their
Christmas meeting in the school
room of the church on Monday
evening with the president, Mrs,
Harvey Hyde opening the
program with two poems "The
Glory of Christmas" and "It's
Christmas In Your Heart".
Mrs. Edith Bell was in charge of
the worship. The scripture was
read by Mrs. Bertha MacGregor
and Mrs. Esther Wright led in
prayer.

teresting meditation on "The
Birth of Hope and Peace", Mrs.
Hyde presided over the business
and read a poem on the "Least

"Holy Night" was the title of an
excellent slide presentation of the
Christmas theme given by Rev,
E,S.Stephens of Brucefield at the
Christmas meeting of the United
Church Women of Hensall and
Chislehurst United Church.
Monday evening.
Preceding the slides Rev.
Stephens told a story, "If I had
not come, showing what the.
world might be like if Jesus had
not been born. Carols were sung
before and after the speaker.
Mrs. Ken Elder opened the
meeting with a simple but sincere
devotional pointing out that it is
Faith at Christmas time that
Makes the Christmas, story come
true again each year. It is the
baby Jesus that brings us our
faith, Reading the scripture was
Mrs. Ken McLean.

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Jones of
Hensall celebrated their 60th
wedding anniversary with an
Open House at the Hensall United
Church, Sunday afternoon.
Mr. and Mrs. Jones were
married on the Finkbeiner
homestead at Lot 11, Concession 8
of Stephen township on

December 6, 1916. Mrs. Jones
was the former Lillian Fink-
beiner.
After their marriage they
moved to the family farm at Lot
4, South Boundary of Stanley
township and remained there
until moving to their present
home in Hensall in 1961.
They have one daughter Mrs.
Bernard (Margaret) Keyes and
one son, Harold, RR 2 Hensall.
They also have four grand-
children and five great grand-
children.
