For Exeter
Councillor
It has been a privilege and a pleasure to serve the
people of Exeter for the past two years We have had
some tough decisions to make and members of council
did not always see eye to eye on all decisions but our
democratic society gives us the right to state our opinions
freely. I have enjoyed working with the present members
of council and as a newcomer found those with more ex-
perience very helpful.
I have been working on the consolidation of our by-
laws. The last time this was done was 1923, As a member
of the property committee, I am proud of our transfor-
mation of the old post office into a fine Municipal
Building.
I am aware of the many essential services which
require upgrading. Not everyone is served with sanitary
sewers, some sidewalks are in a dangerous condition,
part of our drainage system is badly in need of rebuilding
and we have many unpaved streets. These essentials will
strain our resources during the next few years. Our tax
rate can only go so high without crippling our
householders, be these owners or tenants. To keep our
taxes at an acceptable level will at times require un-
popular decisions.
I would appreciate your support on December 6. If you
have any questions to discuss, please call me. If you need
a ride to the polls, please coil 235-1082.
Thank you.
If you require financing to start, modernize or
