presiding. The Kinettes will
have a busy month this Decem-
spent the weekend with their
son and family, Mr. and Mrs.
John Skea, Jr., Colin and Karen
in Brampton.
Mrs. Grace Peck's grandson,
Mr, Dan Jackman, was an
officer on board the Lady Mar-
garet, a privately owned yacht
which weighed anchor in New
York harbour on the day of the
Presidential election recently.
If Ford had been victorious he
would have boarded the yacht
for a Victory Cruise. Events
turning out differently, it set
off for a cruise for Florida
but a sudden storm came up
and all were swept overboard.
Luckily Mr. Jackman was
among those rescued from the
rubber dingy they were float-
ing in. Mrs. Peck is thankful
her grandson was among those
saved.

The CanCer Polio and
Tuberclosis committee of the
IQOF and Amber Rebekah
Lodges met in the local hall,
Tuesday evening.
Glen Koehler was appointed
chairman for the ensuing year
and presided for the -Meeting.
Mrs. Margaret Consitt gave the
financial report.
A donation was voted to the
CNIB and to the War Memorial
Children's Hospital. Euchre par-
ties were planned for January 6,
1977 and February 17, 1977. Plans
were made to remember shut-ins
at the Christmas, season, same to
be delivered December 19.

end with her mother Mrs. Emma

derwent major surgery in St.
Joseph's Hospital, London
returned home from hospital
after two and one half weeks and
has been returning to Victoria
Hospital London for treatment
for three weeks. • . •

Rev. W.D. Jarvis conducted
service in Carmel Presbyterian
Church on Sunday the sermon
was "The all sufficient Christ."
Mrs MalcolmDougall presided at
the organ. The flowers in the
church were placed in loving
memory of the late Mrs, Allota
Foster.
Mrs. Mooney who resides with
her daughter and son-in-law Mr,
& Mrs, Joe Flynn was taken to
South Huron Hospital Exeter,
where she is receiving treat-
ment.
The C.P.T. committee of the
I.O.O.F, Lodge, Hensall have
wheel chairs, walkers, and
crutches available for use.

Bran Muppets
The sixth meeting of the
Hensall 2 4-H Club, the Bran
Muppets, was held on Tues-
day evening, November 16,
at the home of Mrs. Cecil
Pepper.
They discussed the pros and
cons of convenience foods and
read labels and information on
boxes of cereals. A ginger-
bread cake was prepared with
a choice of either brown sugar
or lemon sauce.
Rolled Oats
The sixth meeting of the
Hensall 3 4-H Club, the Rolled
Oats, was held at 7:30 p.m. on
November 16, at the home of
Janice Bisback. Seven girls ans-
wered the roll call which was,
"My two free choice cereal
recipes from the members
pamphlet". The demonstration
was hot water gingerbread and
lemon sauce

A prominent Hensall resident
Samuel G. Fannie passed away
in Westminster Hospital, London
on Sunday, November 21 in his
71st yiear.
A life-long resident of Hensel'
he was the son of the late Mr. &
Mrs.Erastus Rennie, He was a
prominent business man and
widely known for his- musical
talent.
Surviving is his wife, the for-
mer Eileen Rumball; two sons,
Jerry Brantford; Howard,
Sarnia; three daughters; Mrs.
Don (Mary Ann) Bender, RR 1
Dashwood; Mrs. Art (Dianne)
Werner, Kitchener; Suzanne,
Toronto. Ten grandchildren also
survive. Two sisters Mrs, Irma
Harris and Mrs. Ruth Paisley
predeceased.
Funeral service was held from
the Bonthron Funeral Home on
Wednesday at 2 p,m. conducted
by Rev. W. D, Jarvis. Interment
in Hensel' Union Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ed Gascho,
Claude Blowes, Lorne Chapman,
John Anderson, Don Bender, Art
Werner.

serve lunch at the Three Links
Centre.
As a highlight for their
December meeting, the Kin-
ettes will visit the Country
Spire Gift shope on December
8.
United. Church,
The United Church Service
was conducted by Rev. Don
Beck on Sunday with Mrs.
John Turkheim at the organ.
The sermons was called "Three
Possibilities" and told how we
can answer God's command by
(1) saying no, (2) saying yes
and doing it and (3) saying
yes and doing it. The choir
sang, "I want Jesus to walk
with me" and the flowers were
in loving memory of Mrs. Allota
Foster.
Federation
of agriculture
The Ontario Federation of
Agriculture annual convention
will be held November 29, 30 and
December 1, at the Holiday Inn,
Hamilton.
The guest speaker Monday
November 29 will be Joe Clark,
Leader of the Conservative Par-
ty.
Sometimes, the television hero
is the one who sits thru the
program.
President, Mrs. Connie Col-
Clough chaired the November
meeting of Huronview Home
Auxiliary when reports were
given of the most successful
bazaar, tea and bake sale on
record held in the home.
Many thanks are extended to
everyone throughout the county
who contributed to help make
it a wonderful affair.
It was voted to use the pro-
ceeds to purchase two wheel-
chairs, one of these to be a very
special one for an incapacitat-
ed resident of the home who is
confined to her room. With
this special chair she will be
able to control it herself and
get around to see her friends
and what is going on round
about.
Plans were made for the an-
nual Christmas. Fair which is
scheduled for December 6.
This event enables the residents
to purchase various articles with
paper money to the value of
$2.00 which each one is given
and they enjoy the social hour
together over a cup of tea and
cookies.
Bantam Hockey
Hensall Bantams lost to
Dublin Bantams in play last
Thursday. The lone goal on
Hensall's side was scored by
Bradley Stewart. Hensall out-
shot Dublin in shots on goal but
the final score was in Dublin's
favour at 3-1. A fair crowd
was in attendance.
Anglican service
The Rev. G.A. Anderson was
in charge of the service at St.
Paul's Anglican Church on
Sunday. The flowers were in
memory of the late Mrs. James
Foster.

meeting held previously. Mrs.
Dorothy Corbett, treasurer gave
a report of the finances. An in-
vitation was received from the
Ilderton Rebekah Lodge for the
Junior Past Noble Grand and a
car load of members to attend
their meeting on Monday
November 22.
The United Nations meeting
will be held in Clinton Lodge on
Friday November 26, at 8:p.m.

Arrangements were made for
the annual ChristMas Party to be
held December 1 with an ex-

Wreatha Grigg, Warden express-
ed thanks for cards. "Happy
Birthday" was extended to
Sisters Isobel Rogerson, Leona
Parke, and Wreatha Grigg.
Following the meeting "Court
Whist" was played with the high
prize being won by Mrs. Pearl
Ghaddick, consolation Mrs.
Bertha MacGregor, lucky plate

Demand was active at the
Hensall Livestock Sales this
week and the prices were
steady. The supply consisted
mainly of heifers and steers.

Mrs. Laird Mickle returned
Sunday after a pleasant two
week's visit spent with her son
Charles in Hamilton who teaches
at the Sir John A. MacDonald
secondary school in the city.
The Auxiliary wishes to ex-
tend heartfelt gratitude to all
who so generously contribut-
ed money to help in this worthy
project.
The Auxiliary will be in
charge of the January birth-
day party and will not be meet-
ing again until March 21.
A.C.W. meets
The regular meeting of St.
Paul's A.C,W. was held on
Thursday afternoon at the home
of Helen Roberts. The presid-
ent Mrs, Forrest opened the
meeting with the member's
prayer and following that the
Invocation was read from "The
Living Message". The scrip-
ture from 1 John was given by
Helen Roberts and Annie
Reid. Rev, Anderson gave the
Meditation, Everybody then
took part in the Litany—this
was followed by prayer. The
roll call was answered with a
Bible verse containing the word
"snow"
Helen Roberts read the min-
utes of the last meeting and
Mrs. Windover gave the study
book followed by a reading by
Mrs, Forrest.
In 1977 Church Calendars
were distributed and The
Living Message was renewed.;
It was decided to entertain at
the Queensway Nursing Home
for the month of December,
Rev. Anderson closed the meet-
ing with a prayer.
