YAMAHA . . . Something to believe in
A snowmobile must be designed, engineered and built to take the constant pounding of a bumpy,
rough trail, or a hard, snow-packed lake. Snowmobiles Must start in sub-zero temperatures where
automobiles may fail. They must have a suspension system to.smooth out the ruts and bumps.
A snowmobile is required to produce less noise than most othdr motorized vehicles, and yet
deliver enough power to scoot one 'or two persons across the snow et a reasonable and safe
speed, Every refinement must add strength to the machine without increasing the weight beyond
the limits of good flotation in deep snow. Many snowmobiles have an attractive outward appear-
ance, but Inside is where it really counts. Look under the hood, check the frame and chassis,
examine the track, suspension and drive train.,.take a good look because...
WHEN YOU KNOW HOW THEY'RE BUILT, YOU'LL BUY A YAMAHA.

as well, because the doctors don't

Impaired drivers
are fined $200
Two drivers were each fined
$200 or 20 days in jail and had
their licences suspended for three
months when they appeared
before His Honour Judge Glenn
Hays to face impaired driving
charges in Exeter court,
Tuesday,
Walter J.W. Edward, Huron
Park, had pleaded not guilty,
while Donald 0. Brandon, RR 6,
Forest, had pleaded guilty.
Brandon was charged after
police noted his erratic driving on
October 11. A breathalizer test
gave a reading of 190 mgs.
Edward had been involved in
an accident on November 29 of
last year.
Edward was given one month
in which to pay the fine, while
Brandon was given six weeks.
several doctors contacted by
the T-A this week indicated they
have given between 30 to 70 vac-
cinations to date.
Dr. John. Goddard probably
Summed up the situation in ex-
plaining that. it is no problem
getting people to take the vac-
cination, but rather in getting an
ample supply to meet the needs.
All doctors indicate they are
recommending to their patients
that they have the shots, but in
some cases they don't promote it
due to the lack of supply.
A few patients have refused to
take the vaccinations when
queried by area doctors. Dr. Don
Ecker said he has had some
patients indicate they want
nothing to do with it. Dr. R.W.
Read said the first five patients
he talked to about it, didn't take
the shots, although everyone
since then has.
"It's generally accepted," Dr.
Read noted.
The area doctors have advised
patients there may be some
minor side-effects, but only one
or two people have reported any.
One doctor said a patient
complained of a sore arm and
another indicated that one
patient complained of feeling
chilly and a little weak for a day
or two after having the vac-
cination.
All seemed to be in agreement
that the program has been mis-
managed and are concerned
about the lack of vaccine
available at the present time.
Anyone over the age of 20 may
receive a vaccination. Those over
65, as well as the chronically ill,
receive a, combination vaccine
that should protect them against
more ordinary forms of flu as
well as the swine variety.
A Christmas
cooking quiz

proaches. You are busy planning
,meals. You want to make sure
everything is done well ahead to

yourself and the household.
However, this could get you into

Stephen
electors
over 3,000
For the first time represen-
tatives from Stephen township
will be eligible to castfour votes on
Huron County Council business.
Clerk Wilmar Wein announced
this week that the number of
electors in the municipality had
reached 3,066. This will allow the
Stephen deputy-reeve to cast two
votes, the same number as the
reeve.
Under regulations of the
Municipal Act, a municipality
with up to 1,000 electors gets one
vote for the reeve. If the number
of electors is more than 1,000 then
the reeve and a deputy-reeve
each get one vote. Between 2,000
and 3,000, a reeve gets two votes
and the deputy-reeve one vote,
Stephen Will now join the town
of Goderich as the only
municipality with four votes.
Goderich's number of electors is
in excess of 4,000.
The only additional advantage ;
Goderich has as the largest in ;
electoral numbers is the deciding
vote in any tie.
The town of Exeter and the
township of Hay, each receive
three votes with eligible electors
of 2,692 and 2,241, respectively.
The township of Usborne has
1,256 eligible voters for the up-
coming December 6 election,
