McGillivray Central Home &
School Association held their
Country Fair, postponed a week,
in the school gym with a good
attendance of parents and
children.
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Rammeloo of
Farmer Bills Greenhouses at
Shipka, gave an excellent
demonstration of building a
terrarium and caring for house
plants. Booths for Sale of Home
Baking, crafts and plants were
well patronized. A lovely hanging
basket was won by Mrs. Irene
Scott.
Monday dinner guests with Mr.
& Mrs. Harvey Morley were the
latter's sister Mrs, Robert
Hackney, and Mrs. Ken Young of
Sarnia.
Mr. & Mrs. Wilbert Lewis and
Mrs. Fred Lewis visited Sunday
afternoon with Fred Lewis, who
is a patient in Strathroy Hospital.

Dashwood Women's Institute
were guests of Kippen East
Women's Institute when they
met in the Legion Hall Hensall
for the Agriculture and Canadian
Industries meeting, Wednesday.
Mrs. Don Pullen, wife of the
Agriculture Representive for
Huron County and a life long stu-
dent of Botany was the guest
speaker and she was introduced
by Mrs. Robert Kinsman.
By using slides she illustrated
in a most interesting way the
different families of plants and
how they reproduce. "Plants,"
she said, "are essential to all
animal life."
Plants are able to produce
their own food by the process of
photosynthesis which is
something neither man or
animal is able to do. She was
thanked by Mrs. Grant MacLean.
Mrs. Wm. McDowell, a recent
bride was presented with a gift
from the members after Mrs.
Ross Broadfoot played, "I love
you truly".
The area convention report
was given by Mrs. Al Hoggarth
and Mrs. Grace Drummond, The
current events were given by
Mrs. Ross Broadfoot, Mrs.
Robert Kinsman reported the
