TO THE ELECTORS OF TUCKERSMITH It was at the insistence of many friends and neighbours and after much thought that I decided to seek nomination for the position of councillor. As a resident of Tuckersmith Township I am concerned about the quality and quantity of government that I receive. I think that in spite of what was said to the -con- trary after the last provincial election, regional government is still planned for all Ontario. I feel that the recent Property Tax Revision Proposals are the first step toward that end. I am opposed to regional government because I feel that it will cater to more urbanization and industrial growth because of the resulting broader tax base and that rural and agricultural needs will be neglected. I also think that a regional govern- ment will lose contact with the people. Just because it is bigger doesn't mean it is better. I have had no experience at municipal government but I feel that my background will be of benefit. I am a graduate of Centralia College of Agricultural Technology, class of '69. I farm 350 acres and for five years I hove been a director of the Hensall District Cooperative, this past year as 'Vice presi- dent. If ydu are as concerned about the future of Tuckifsmith Township as I am, on December 6 for councillor vote Robert Drummond CARDS FOR SALE — Assisting with the sale of cards at Saturday's Ex- eter United.
