The Centralia College Saints
continued their excellent record
in the South Huron hockey league
this week with two victories and
the same number of ties in four
starts.
The Saints edged Huron Park 7-
5 and the Parkhill Merchants 6-3.
They held the same Parkhill
team to a 7-7 draw and played a 4-
4 stalemate with Goderich.
In their only start, the Huron
Park Marauders scored a 5-4 win
over Watford. Watford defeated
Goderich 8-4 and Thedford edged
the Shipka Colonials 6-5 in other
league action.
Randy Jakobi scored the first
two goals of the game to lead the
College to their 6-3 win over
Parkhill. Adding single scores
were Jim McGee, Brad Spiers,
Terry Hayes and Les Hammill.
The Parkhill sharpshooters
were Gerald Nordeman, Wayne
Ropp and Ernie Schlegel.
Larry Krantz's second goal of
the night at 4:26 of the third
period enabled the Saints to gain
the 4-4 tie with Goderich. Other
College markers were fired by"
Jim McGee and Peter Duenk.

Lee Arbour and Frank Hagan,
Ernie Schlegel notched his
fourth goal of the game with less
than two minutes left to give the
Parkhill Merchants a 7-7 tie with
Centralia College. Wayne Ropp
scored twice for Parkhill and
Paul Glavin added the other goal.
Randy Jakobi turned in a hat
trick performance to lead the
Saints in the scoring department.
Brad Speirs was next in line with
a two goal effort while Bob
Armstrong and Les Hamill added
singles.
Les Hamill, Randy Jakobi and
Walter Lantz each scored two
goals to pace the Centralia
College attack in the win over
Huron Park. The odd counter
came from the stick of Brad
Speirs.
Randy Funston with a two goal
effort was best for Huron Park.
Scoring in single fashion were
Larry Clarke, Randy Somerville
and Ron Funston.
A goal by Jim Rolph midway
through the third period allowed
the Huron Park Marauders to
score a close 5-4 win over Wat-

formance. Single scores were

The Pride of Huron Rebekah
Lodge No. 338 meeting was held
November 17 with Noble Grand
Olive Hicks presiding. The
Charter was draped for Caroline
Cutler, Past President of the
Rebekah Assembly.
The CP&T Committee are
holding a euchre party,
December 8 in the Lodge rooms.
The visting committee has
been revised. An invitation was
received from Paisley Rebekah
Lodge, Ilderton to attend their
Friendship Night, November 22.
The Secret Pal party will be
held January 5. The Lodge
members .are catering to Past
Noble Grand's Christmas party.

The November meeting of the
•Women's Institute was held at
the Village Inn Retreat, Grand
Bend, Wednesday evening, with
a supper at seven o'clock,
Husbands and friends were in-
vited.
Roll Call was answered by in-
troducing one's guest. Mrs. Cliff
Kenney and Mrs. Gerald Dearing
were appointed to represent the
Institute at a meeting of the Hall
Board in the Community Centre.
Mrs. Dave Cottel reported the
convention held in Tillsonburg,
Mrs. Art Ball had donated.a doily
for the craft table there and Mrs.
Kenney thanked her for it,
Plans were made for the
Christmas meeting which in-
cludes a mystery sister gift ex-
change, Mrs. Ed Lamport led in
a contest, and Mrs. Bruce Shap-
ton discussed the motto "A
Chinese sage said, When plan-
ning for a year, sow corn, when
planning for a decade, plant
trees; when planning for life,
train and educate people."
Mr. & Mrs. Dearing performed
a humorous skit, then Mr. & Mrs.
Shapton showed pictures of a trip
to Texas.

Tom Ruggaber of Penticton,
B.C. , formerly of Concession 7,
Stephen, died in a motor vehicle
accident. He was brought to the
T. Harry Hoffman Funeral
Home for burial in the Mount
Carmel cemetary.
Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Hodgins
attended the Royal Winter Fair,
Wednesday with members of the
Huron County Holstein Club, Of
interest were the flower show
and the Holstein auction, "When
one animal goes for the price of a
farm, it's quite an experience to
watch the bidding," said Mrs.
Hodgins.

Georgetown, were with Mrs,
Chris Dinney on the weekend.
