The Jets now have a season point total of 13, three points behind the front running London Kings. The Preston Jesters are third with 11 points, The Jets were in Port Stanley o election for Biciciulph Ratepayers in the township of Bidclulph will not be required to go to the polls on December 6. A complete slate was filled by acclamation when nominations closed Monday afternoon. The entire incumbent council will be returned for the 1977-78 term but there is one change. Present reeve Wilson Hodgins and deputy-reeve Fred Dobbs are exchanging positions, Dobbs will become reeve and Hodgins takes over as deputy-reeve. Filling the three council positions are incumbents Frank Hardy, Hubert Dietrich and Jim Shipley, Nurse in mental hospital: "There's a lady outside who wants to know if we've lost any female inmates." Nurse: "She says some woman ran off with her husband." last night, Wednesday for a return game with the Canadians and will be back'at the Ilderton arena Sunday afternoon when the always dangerous Durham Huskies will supply the op- position. Game time is 2 r0.1n. Friday's close win for the Jets over Port Stanley came in sud- den-death overtime after the two clubs battled through regulation time with three goals apiece. The game ending goal at 1.54 of extra time came from the stick of speedy Jamie Robb on a pass from Jacques Cousineau, Most of the game scoring came in the first period with each team chalking up two goals. Frank Sworik opened the scoring for the Canadians at 1.46 on an unassisted effort. In less than two minutes the score was even as Ed Robb scored with assists going to Brian Murphy and Jacques Cousineau as the Jets took advantage of a Port Stanley penalty. At six minutes of the opening frame, Jacques Cousineau shot the Jets ahead 24 as he com- pleted a three-way passing effort with Ed and Jamie Robb. The Jets scored the only goal of the middle• frame on a successful shot by Jacques Cousineau with the assist going to Jamie Robb. Early in the third period, a Jets power play backfired as Scott McTaggart registered for the Canadians to tie the score and force overtime. Rob Kelestine was in goal for the Jets and he blocked a total of 35 shots while Brian Moore in goal for Port Stanley stopped 44 shots. By MRS. IRVIN RADER DASHWOOD Group 1 With Mrs. Harry Hayter, convener, was in charge of the November meeting of Zion Lutheran Ladies' Aid. Mrs. Arnold Becker, president, opened the meeting with a hymn, scripture reading and a prayer by Pastor Mellecke. For the topic, Pastor Mellecke involved all the ladies with Bible study in looking up names given to Jesus prior to his birth. There were twenty-one present and one visitor. Cards of thanks were read. The Altar Guild reported 16 calls, one flower, and one phone call. The new Guild is Mrs. Reinhold Miller and Mrs, Lou- ella Tieman. Donations were made to Lutherwood and Con- cordia College Ann Arbor. Group 2 will be in charge of the Christmas meeting, Each member is to bring a guest. There will be a White Elephant exchange. Mrs. Lorne Genttner had closing devotions followed by lunch. Young People Sunday, November 14, the Young People of Zion Lutheran Church held their first official meeting of the 76-77 year. The young people of Goderich Lutheran Church joined with them. The afternoon was spent at Stephen Central school playing Basketball and Volleyball. Pastor Barz's team was Basketball champs while Sheila Miller's team was victorious in Volleyball. Following recreation, everyone returned to the church for a delicious potluck supper. They finished the day with a sing song': The Young People are very pleased to report there were 25 teenagers from the church along with 10 guests, Flowers in Zion Lutheran Church, Sunday, were placed by friends of Mrs. Susan Snider in honor of her 90th. birthday. Congratulations to Louis Restemayer who will be 90 Sunday, November 21. U.C,IN, Meeting: The November meeting of the United Church Women of Calvary was held Tuesday, November 9, with the Stewardship and Recruiting opened by Rev, Bruce Guy who introduced us to "Bigger Somebodies", He read an Armistice poem and a 1 minute silence. Devotional study was read by Mrs. Letta Taylor followed by a duet by Mrs. Gordon Bender and Mrs. Jack Gaiser. "Quality Developing the topic was read by Mrs. Bruce Guy with Mrs. Jack Gaiser reading, "To Love the Unlovable;" Mrs. Gordon Bender, "To love ones Enemies"; Mrs, Jessie Rader, "To love by commandment." Donations were made to Care, C.N.I.B., Leprosy Mission, Children's Aid Society, Bible Society, Crippled child treatment centre, War Memorial, World Relief, Victor Home, John Milton, Mustard seed. The Sunshine committee is Mrs. Ralph Weber. Rev, Guy read the election of officers for 1977, past president, Mrs. J.M, Tieman; president, Mrs. Hugh Boyle; vice- presidents, Mrs. Don Gaiser and Mrs. Clayton Merner; recording secretary, Mrs. Jack Gaiser; treasurer, Mrs. Wm, Chandler; pianist, Mrs. Ken McCrae. 4-H Meeting The fifth meeting of Dash- wood 4-H girls club no, 3 was held at the home of Maxine Miller. Roll call was, "Three things I learned about flour." The girls made Lasagna and worked on a Collage depicting different ways cereals can be used. The girls all participated in a short quiz. Personals Jeremy Edward Valentine, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. John Becker was baptized in Zion Lutheran Church Sunday, November 14, by Rev. Mayo Mellecke. Alvin Surerus of West Hill, at Toronto, Monday. Miss Sharon Rader, London, spent a couple of days with Mr. & Mrs. Iwin Rader. Lucan atoms win The Lucan atoms scored a close 2-1 victory over Dorchester in Shamrock minor league play in Dorchester, Friday. tlohn Grace scored the winning goal with less than two minutes remaining. Mrs, Mary Davis read the meditation, Mrs, Mills spoke briefly on the Scripture reading, Mrs. Marguerite Greenlee read the minutes of the October meeting. Plans were made for a early December banquet. Mrs. Mary Kooy gave a reading appropriate for Remembrance day. Persona Is Mr, & Mrs, Hugh Davis and family attended a family dinner at the home of Mr. & Mrs, Ross McFalls Saturday evening. Members of the Lucan C.G.LT, attended the movie "The Hiding Place" last Wednesday evening at the Hyland Theatre London and held a successful Bake Sale at the Lucan United Church on Saturday morning.
