Mr. & Mrs. Charles Cronyn,
R.R, 2, Lucan, celebrated their
50th wedding anniversary on
November 10 with a wedding
mass at St. Patrick's Roman
Catholic Church, south of Lucan,
This is the same church .that
they were married in 50 years
ago.
Celebrations continued
Saturday with a dinner for family
and close friends at the Ilderton
curling club and an Open House
at the home of their daughter,
Mrs, Fred Lewis, R.R. 2, Den-
field,
After the marriage in 1926, the
Cronyn's moved to their present
home which is located on High-
way 4 in McGillivray township,
about a mile and a quarter south
of Centralia.
Mrs. Cronyn was the former
Gail Mcllhargey. They have
seven children and 13 grand-
children, They are sons, Patrick,
Larry and Paul and daughters,
Mrs, Lyle (Mary Therese)
Revington, Mrs. Fred (Anne)
Lewis and Rosemary and
Michelle.
There has been much confusion
for some time over the variety of
names being used to describe
minced or ground beef,
In fact a recent national survey
revealea that almost thirty
different names were being used
on the retail market. Terms such
as hamburger, minced beef,
ground chuck, and ground round
give na indication of fat content.
A federal committee was formed
to review the situation and
propose a basic system to be used
by all meat retailers across
Canada.
Based on this review, a new
regulation came into effect July
1st, 1976 making it mandatory for
ground (minced) beef to be sold
exclusively under one of the
following terms based on the fat
content:
Regular Ground Beef (boeuf
hache ordinaire), if the prodUct
contains 30 percent fat or less,
Medium Ground Beef ) boeuf
hache mi-maigre), if it contains
23 percent fat or less, and
Lean Ground Beef (boeuf
hache maigre), if it contains 17
percent fat or less,
Select the type according to
your needs. Regular ground beef
is often used for patties and
meatballs since the lean and fat
combination makes them juicy
and not too compact. Leaner
ground beef may be more
suitable for meat loaves or
casseroles. The choice is yours!

Happily, no one ever seems to
tire of the all-Canadian fruit —
APPLES, With their shiny-
bright color, apples are their own
best display packages.
Tart firm apples are generally
referred to as cooking apples,
and the sweeter varieties are
eating apples, although many
kinds are tagged "all-purpose".
When you buy, select firm, bright
fruit, noticing the size as well as
the variety. Small apples are
perfect for turning into sauce and
pie, or serving to children; large
