Pre-sehoolers, and badge groups are scheduled to begin- monday, Novernber 15, at the Hensall arena, starling at 4:30 p.m. Hints about skates It has been stated that only one person in a thousand has weak ankles! !!If you can walk in shoes, you can learn to skate but two things are necessary, proper fit and proper lacing. Proper fit starts with the skates. You should not use skates that you will grow into because a poorly fitted skate can cause such painfully sore feet that the would- be skater will be forever discouraged about learning how to skate. Your walking shoe can be loose on your foot, whereas the skate "boot" should fit like a tight glove so that your foot does not slip or slide around in the boot, and thus the boot can support the foot. If your foot can wobble, then the skate, in turn, can wobble when you are trying to balance yourself. Proper lacing Laces should be very snug from toe to ankle, and not just tight at the ankle. In this kind of lacing, the whole foot will support you and not just the ankle. Heavy socks inside of skates do not keep your feet warm. Socks only keep your feet warm as-long as they contain trapped air to act as an insulation barrier. If you do not tie your skates tight, your feet will slide around inside your skates and you will have no support. .If you do tie them correctly, you will squeeze out most of the "air insulation" and all you have left is bulk, Which will not help much to keep your feet Waiiri. The best way to keep your feet warm is to skate-and not stand around. We're still open to serve you again this snowmobiling season. Service for all makes and models. Ed Robb sent the Jets into a 3-1 lead at 3:09 of the final session when he took a pass from Steve Proctor on a two-on-one break and blinked the red light, With less than two minutes remaining, Brian 'Hind took advantage of a Jets penalty and cut the margin to two goals. With 34 seconds left, Bob Marr scored the fourth and final London goal to complete the game scoring. Penalties Expensive Penalties proved very costly to the Jets Friday night and allowed the Stratford Perths to score five straight goals the last half of the second period and the first part of the third. The Jets held a 2-1 edge at-the end of the first period on two goals from the stick of Randy Roth while Terry Warboys counted for Stratford. Both scores by Roth came on rebounds. The first on a shot by Rick Fifield with Terry Johnston also assisting and the second on a shot by Ed Parkinson. Barry Baynham also assisted. Brent Webley, Jerry Harrigan and Paul Boudreau were the Stratford sharpshooters in the second period. Jets defenceman Barry Baynham was banished from the game with two minors and a match misconduct.
