The fifth meeting of Elimville
two 4-H club was held November
3 at the home of Mrs. Joyce
Fulton. For business the girls
decided the next meeting would
be at the home of Debbie Taylor
on November 1
The roll call was answered by
everyone present, The,
discussion, centred on bay leaf
and oregano.
Karen Morley demonstrated
how to make lasagna.As a group
different types of pasta were
reviewed. The lasagna was en-
joyed by most members.
Several from the community
attended the "Remembrance
Day Service" and the dedication
of the .former Winchelsea school
bell at Usborne Central School,
Monday,
Mr. & Mrs. W.J. Routly visited
Sunday with'Mrs, Mildred Crago
of St. Marys and attended the
United Church Anniversary
services there, where Mr. Jack
13tirghardt of London was guest
speaker at the morning service.
In the evening the Sellwood
music group from Guelph took
part in the service.

Crystal Lake.
The U.C.W, catered to the
Kirkton Fair Board' Banquet

Woodham Community Centre.

club and friends participated in a 24 hour dance marathon over the
weekend. From the left are Arndt Vermaeten, Jim Romphf, Kathy Gif-

Doug Raymond, Sherry Gilfillan and Brenda Pinder. Resting in the

The U.C.W. of Zion United
Church held their November
meeting in the Sunday School
rooms Thursday evening. Mrs.
Lloyd Hey, Mrs. Harold Fahner,
Mrs, Armin Schlenker, Mrs. Ed
Finkbeiner, Mrs. 0. Klaver were
in charge of devotions. Mrs. Hey,
chairman and Mrs. Klaver led in
prayers,
Mrs. Fahner read the scripture
and Mrs. Finkbeiner introduced
the speaker, Clarence Down of
Exeter. Mr. Down showed
pictures he had taken in Iceland.
His pictures and his" com-
mentary. gave an interesting
overyiew,..of the island. Dicing
intermission Doris Schwartz
sang two solos, Mrs., Gordon
Finkbeiner accompanied
singing.

Roll call was ansered by
naming an overseas missionary
and the Thank Offering was
received. Mrs. Ed Hendrick,
speaking for the Supply Com-
mittee, announced that 18 boxes
of clothing and three of shoes
were packed for the London
Rescue Mission,
Final preparations were made
for the bazaar on November 13, A
sum of money was voted toward
the work of Five Oaks and to the
Good Cheer Convener, Mrs. Alvin
Finkbeiner, for Christmas gifts
for shot-ins. '

Mrs. Gerald Moffatt had the
topic on Remembrance Day and
showed slides andread a poem on
that theme when Kippen United
Church Women held their
meeting November 2.
The meeting was held a week
early because the smorgasbord
supper is the week.of the regular
meeting, Mrs. Keith Love con-
ducted the worship. The
President opened .the, business
portion of the Meeting With a
reading "The purpose of the
U.C.W."
Mrs. Tom Reid read the
minutes and the roll call was
answered by "Something of in-
terest that you read in the
Observer". Melissa Moffatt
favoured with a piano solo and a
step dance number. Heather and
Melissa Moffat sang two numbers
to their own accompaniment on
the ukulele.
Mrs. Barbara Cooper gave
courtesy remarks and a
smorgasbord lunch was served
by the hostesses Mrs. J. Sinclair
and Mrs. R. Turner,
The group leaders and social
committee met for a few minutes
to finalize plans for the supper on
November 10.

visited recently with Mr. & Mrs.
Orville Jones, Bluevafe. Last
weekend they visited Mrs.
Oestricher's sister in Grimsby
and her son and his family in Don
Mills.
. Mr. & Mrs. Ken Campbell
attended the Warden's Banquet
in Goderich Thursday evening.
Mrs. Margaret Clarke and Mrs.
Allan Finkbeiner are in Kelwood,
Manitoba, to attend the wedding
of a relative. More than 200
guests have been invited to the
Ukranian ceremony. The father
of the bride killed one of his cattle
herd to feed the guests.

A number of Kippen ladies
attended the supper in Walton
Wednesday night,
Mr. Ed McBride, who has been
a patient in St. Joseph's hospital
undergoing tests, has returned
home.
Mrs. John Anderson, who
underwent surgery in London,
has returned home.
The Agricultural and Canadian
Industries meeting will be held in
the Legion Hall on November 17
at 8:30 p.m. The speaker will be
Mrs. Don Pullen, Mrs. Ross
Broadfoot will give current
events, roll call is a "Land-
scaping Idea". Lunch com-
mittee is Mrs. Wm. Bell and Mrs.
Campbell Eyre.

Kippen East W.I. and their
families enjoyed an evening of
bowling in ZuriCh on Saturday,
November 6. La ter. they had a pot
luck lunch at the Legion Hall
Hensel].
The prize winners were: lucky
cup, Jim Parsons, birthday
nearest date, Phillis Parsons;
mbn's high score bowling, Bob
Bell; men's low, Stewart Pepper;
ladies high, Marlene Bell; ladies'
low, Grace Drummond;
children's high, Greg froggarth;
children's low, Paul Hoggarth.
The Exeter Leo Club would like to extend their
thanks to Mr. Chapman' for letting them use the
facilities of the Exeter Public 'School for their
marathon dance, to Tuckiey Beverages for supplying
them with refreshments, and to Radio Shack for
donating the use of their equipment. And a special
thanks to the generous people who sponsored them.
Thanks to these people the Leo Club of Exeter has
raised approximately $700 which will be used to help
support the South Huron Recreation Centre.
