Elwood Morden conducted the morning worship and officiated at the Sacrament of Baptism, when Jeffrey Clair McRobert son of Mr Mr. & Mrs. Claire McRobert, and Lucas William Harold 'Alee son of Mr. & Mrs. Dan Alce, were baptized. Children receiving Sunday School attendance awards, were David and Paul Brown who were presented with wreaths. This being All Saints Day also Reformation Sunday Rev. Morden chose "Should we bother about the Reformation?" for the title of his sermon. The Reformation and all it stood for is a powerful reminder to the church today of the sacrifices men like Luther, Calvin and Knox made for their Faith and Freedom of Worship, it is also something to cherish as our Heritage. At St. Thomas Anglican Church Sunday morning the parish service of Holy Communion was celebrated with Rev. William Anderson of the Mitchell. Parish as the guest preacher and celebrant, assisted by Rev. Mary Mills. Miss Marion Herbert read the Epistle of the day, it being the twentieth Sunday after Trinity. Rev. Mills announced the board of management meeting November 10 at 8: p.m. and Church service next Sunday at 9:30 a.m. FRIENDLY NEIGHBORS LEATHERCRAFT Fifteen interested people turned up at the Scout Hall Thursday evening, to work on their beginners kit.Coasters were made under the instruction of George Dann. Ther,e will be another class next Thursday evening at 8 p.m. in the hall. This project is sponsored by the Friendly Neighbors, but anyone in the community is welcome to take part in these classes. CUB NEWS The cubs made Jack-o- Lanterns out of a number of pumpkins at the meeting Monday night, these decorated the Scout Hall for a community Hallow'een Party at the Hall Saturday evening. We are sorry to report that the Granton Scout movement has been discontinued,owing to there being not enough boys enrolled to make a troupe, this was a great disappointment to Scout Leader Ron Rose. 4-H CLUB NEWS The 4th meeting of the "Quacky Cookers;" 4-H club "The Third Meal" was held at the home of Dianb Garrett, Saturday mor- ning. The meeting opened with the roll call which was answered by naming a Supper Dish featuring cheese or eggs. It was decided to have black covers and a picture of a yellow duck on the books, also to invite the mothers of the members, and the executive of the Women's Institute Novernner 27. Barbara Hudson and Rosanne Pritchard made a tuna casserole and while it was cooking Leader Mrs. Marlene French discussed with the girls the dif- ferent kinds of casseroles and main dishes. Leader Mrs. Diane O'Shea showed pictures of dishes, which the members were asked to describe and say what would go well with them, When the casserold was almost ' done, Mrs. French made an "Egg Scramble," following this the culinary efforts were enjoyed by all. Questions dealing with the subject matter were asked, and next meeting announced to take place Thursday November 4 at 7. p.m. at the home of Betty Johnson. C.G.I.T. & EXPLORERS The Explorers met Monday evening October 25 and under the leadership of Mrs. Corrie Van- derminnen and Mrs. Carol Johnson worked on a project making pictures with pumpkin seeds, and also made small articles for the Fish Pond that they will be in charge of at the Church Bazaar. Thursday evening the C.G,I.T, under the Ipadership of Mrs. Marian Gricken worked on their project for the bazaar. MEDWAY EUCHRE CLUB The Medway club resumed their euchre parties Monday evening October 25 at the home of Clarence Lewis, Prize winners were the following members: Ladies high score; Mrs. Chris, Schomberg, Lone hands: Mrs. Austin Hobbs; Low score: Mrs. James Kerr; and Mens High score: Chris, Schomberg; Lone hands: Elmer Summers; Low score: Austin Hobbs. The host was assisted with lunch by Mrs. Austin Hobbs and Mrs. James Kerr. HALLOWEEN PARTY AND TEEN-AGE DANCE Spooks were dampened spirits Saturday evening, but many apparitions found their way to the Scout Hall which was warm and dry with many treats awaiting them, the tricks were the simple contests that they had to test their skills on, Following the party for the younger children, there was a dance for the teens with refresh- ments and prizes for spot dances, Ladies assisting the Friendly neighbors were Mrs. Doreen McRobert, Mrs, Marilyn Hack, and Mrs. Joan Hayden, while Mrs. Elsie Dann, Mrs. Marg. Elliott, Mrs. Olive Gowan, Mrs. Nora Wissels and Mrs, Eileen Summer represented the Friendly Neighbors. They wish to extend their appreciation to the afore mentioned ladies for their assistance in making this venture a success. G. C. R. A. Mr. & Mrs. Clifford McRobert attended the christening party for their great grandson Jeffery Clair McRobert at the home of his parents Mr, & Mrs. Clair McRobert. Get well wishes are extended to Mrs. Lois Herbert who is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, Mr. & Mrs. Austin Hobbs were Sunday dinnerguests of Mr. & Mrs, Kenneth Hobbs of Ilderton.
