in recognizing local planning and
financial.problems, the Study has
recommended that consideration
be given to some municipal
restructuring in the Grand Bend
area.
It is understood that the Village
of Grand Bend endorses the
recommendation that some
consideration be given to a
restructuring program for the
area.
The proposed Official Plan
Amendment acknowledges that
the subject property, if
developed, would functionally be
part of the Grand Bend area. As a
result of this situation, because it
would appear that the ap-
propriate public and community
services are available, and since
the development would be
compatible with existing ac-
tivities in the area, it would
appear that the Amendment
should be supported.
The proposal does, however,
provide a good example of how a
municipality would be affected
by a development in an adjacent
jurisdiction, and shows that
existing boundaries can be a
constraint to sound f3lanning,
