The Huron Country Playhouse Guild members, held a luncheon meeting last week at the Green Forest, President, Beth Jean, presided. They are planning a flower arrangement demonstration to be held at the Green Forest, November 10. A Christmas bazaar is in the planning process to be held December 4 at the home of Mar- ney Brown. A special feature will be a cook book, they hope to have ready by then and also to sell at the Playhouse boutique next sum- mer. The Youth Club of Grand Bend has challenged the Alhambra men of Grand Bend to a soccer game on Sunday, October 24, 2:00 p.m., weather permitting, at the soccer field in Grand Bend. Come out and watch the fun. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Parker, Chiselhurst and Mr. & Mrs. Bob Keyes, Grand Bend spent the weekend in the Bruce Peninsula, . Manitoulin Island and Georgian Bay areas. 4-H CLUB The Grand Bend 4-H girls held their second meeting at Mrs. J. Smeekens home Thursday evening. Twelve girls answered the roll call by telling, "My record of cereal and bread eaten for one day". Discussion followed on a name for their club, and will vote en at next meeting. Whole' grains of barley, wheat, oats and corn were passed around to view. Home assignment was to list products made from whole grain. To make and serve a hot cereal,. tell what you cooked, to whom it was served and their comments. . To collect and take to next meeting small samples of any breakfast cereal in your home. The girls made Dogwoods which proved a tasty lunch. Next meeting will be at Mrs. A. Mr. & Mrs. Edwin Morley were Thanksgiving dinner guests with Mr. & Mrs. Brian Hodgins, Exeter. in recognizing local planning and financial.problems, the Study has recommended that consideration be given to some municipal restructuring in the Grand Bend area. It is understood that the Village of Grand Bend endorses the recommendation that some consideration be given to a restructuring program for the area. The proposed Official Plan Amendment acknowledges that the subject property, if developed, would functionally be part of the Grand Bend area. As a result of this situation, because it would appear that the ap- propriate public and community services are available, and since the development would be compatible with existing ac- tivities in the area, it would appear that the Amendment should be supported. The proposal does, however, provide a good example of how a municipality would be affected by a development in an adjacent jurisdiction, and shows that existing boundaries can be a constraint to sound f3lanning, Seniors attend rally at Goderich Thirteen Golden Age club members attended a fall rally, last Thursday, at Saltford Valley Hall, near Goderich. This is Zone 8 and included 11 clubs in Huron County. Plans were-made for a Spring Rally to be held in Dashwood. An executive meeting is planned for March 17, in Clinton.
