hospitality of him and his wife.
Back at the community centre, a
square dance completed our ac-
tivities of the night. We then
retired; the girls in the com-
munity centre, the boys in their
cabins.
Saturday, a hike along the
Bruce Trail, in Cypress Lake
Provincial Park, to Bootlegger's
Cave was our main activity. We
made our lunches and took the
bus to the park. Our hike was un-
dertaken immediately and after
losing the trail several times
along the way, we arrived at the
cave.
Lunch was eaten here and we
did some exploring. Shortly after
eating lunch, we left for the bus.
Only after arriving at the bus and
waiting for awhile did we realize
that five people were missing.
They turned up about two and a
half hours later. They had lost the
trail and had walked in the wrong
direction. They were finally
found and we returned to the
community centre. Games of
cards and "murder ball" were
played before supper.
After supper we held a square
dance and then we tried some
other types of danced. Later on,
we retired, quite ready for sleep
after a long day.
Sunday morning, after
preparing our lunches we went
to investigate "some rock for--
mations near Tobermory.We then
set off for Tobermory, to see the
ferry, the "Chichimaun".
Lunch was eaten at Dorcas; Bay
and then we dropped Mr. Elliott
off at Stoke's Bay. We soon began
our long trip home from a
weekend I know I'll remember
for a long time. • •

Friday, October .15, we, 25
senior students, Mr. Marshall
and Mr. Cook loaded our gear
and ourselves into a bus and
departed for Stoke's Bay. We
arrived at the community centre
at 1:00, where we were joined by
Mr. Elliott, a former teacher at
South Huron, who was to be our
guide i for the weekend. A
delicious lunch was served by the
Stoke's Bay Women's Institute.
Our first activity Friday after-
noon was a trip to two spruce
bogs in the area. We returned
from the bogs, a wet, hungry, dir-
ty group, ready for our supper.
After eating and a time of rest,
we began a walk to the "haunted
house".
The walk was surely more
frightening than the house itself.

Thursday, South Huron played
an exciting field hockey match
against Norwell. The game was
very close, but the score ended 2-
1 for Norwell.
The two teams were evenly
matched in skill and experience,
and only a lucky shot gave Nor-
well the win.
The one goal scored by South
Huron was shot by Joanne Van
Raay,from just inside the scoring
circle. South Huron'kept the ball
at the Norwell end for at least 70
percent of the game.
The clinic held on October 5,
coached by Ann McKenna, the

coach, was a great success with
over 50 players and coaches from
area schools attending.
After the clinic, coffee, cold

to augment the uniform fund.
