Under the careful husbandry of the farmer, Na- ture's soil with the blessing of rain and sunshine has produced a bountiful harvest that sees each Canadian farmer providing enough food for nearly 50 fellow countrymen. This year's harvest is a tribute to the Canadian farmer who must plant his seed`in future anticipa- tion of harvest and risk the vagrancies of nature throughout the growing season that might cause total loss through wind, hail, drought, disease and pest destruction. In a land of plenty where there is enough for everyone, let us remember at this time of Thanksgiving those who are less fortunate than ourselves, and also those who have made this bounty possible through their toil and understand- ing of the land and its production capabilities—the Canadian farmers.
