Groups of the Lucan Senior
Citizens Club at their meeting
Thursday afternoon, in memory
of Margaret Elliott.
Myrna O'Neil chaired the brief
business meeting when a money-
raising activity, for the Arena,
was laid over until January and
sending someone to the monthly
conferences for. Seniors at Port
Burwell was left until November,
when it is hoped that someone will
be in a position to attend.
Ethel Crouch agreed to take the
position of secretary for the club.
Gordon Hotson asked all Seniors
or near-Seniors , interested in
bowling to leave their names with
Alex Young. Bowling will likely
commence on Tuesday, October 4
at 2 p.m.

Cecil Robb showed two films
"5,000 Miles", pictures from
across Canada,
Bingo was enjoyed by the
Sunshine Group, and the Busy
Buddies made arrangements of
dried flowers under the direction
of Genevieve Nicholson.
Members of the latter group
will work on the quilt blocks
today, and there has been a
change in activities for the
following weeks. Next week the
Leathercraft course will com-
mence and all those taking this
course should be present for the
demonstration and to order what
they wish to make.

fall meetings, The club will be
known as the Dinner Dames, The
leaders are Mrs, Mary De
Brouwer and Mrs. Cory Van-
derloo.
The president of the club is
Jackie Toonders, Mary Helen
Toonders is the vice-president
and the press reporter is
Elizabeth Markin. A rotating
Secretary will be used,
During the first meeting

At the second meeting, six girls
answered the roll call by telling
when their main meal of the day
is and what it is called. Mrs. De
Brouwer discussed the topic,
"Three Meals a Day",
Members planned the next

tomato soup and western sand-
wiches, The next meeting is this

The Lucan District Lions Club
held its first business meeting for
the 1976-77 year, at Holy Trinity
Church.
The membership approved that
the proceeds from the "Last.
Dance In the Arena", held
August 20, in the amount of
$2,346.77 be given to the arena
building fund in addition to
$20,000 already donated by the
club.
The Lions Club is presently
preparing for calendars to be
made listing the various
businesses in Lucan area, with
their respective telephone
numbers for distribution to area
residences by mail,
The next meeting which is a
regular dinner meeting on
Monday October 4, 1976 has been
designated as "Guest Nite",
Each member is to bring a guest,
as the club is looking for more
and younger members. New
members are welcome to
