I don't suppose you'll publish this but I'm writing you anyway to give voice to my feelings. The subject was, copper bracelets, and you published the name and address of a Vancouver firm which mitkes them. Since all jewellers carry these bracelets today I can only come to the conclusion that you must be getting some kind of "kick-back" from this firm, otherwise why would you recommend a firm that doesn't even have a location in this province, and to top it all, the prices you quoted seem very high to me. await your answer. The main reason you see your letter and my answer in print is because there may be some other readers who took the same in- terpretation as you did. Let me very emphatically state that I receive NO "kickback" from ANY firm! You are also quite wrong in assuming that ALL jewellers carry a line of copper bracelets. A great many do, but certainly not all. The reason I mentioned the Vancouver firm is because they were recommended to me as being a reliable firm SPECIALIZING in the manufacture of this type of bracelet. As far as prices go, I cannot be a judge, I merely quoted their selling price and that's all I con do! It was a year old but brand new and already it's starting to show signs of rusting. It's not too bad as yet, but I'm afraid to think what it's going to be like in a little while. I have heard that there is an organization that is sup- posed to go after complaints of this nature, but I need to knew if it's only Ford cars that they are interested in, also, who do I contact, and how much does it cost? There is at present a Canadian company that offers to act for car owners with rust problems. The make of the automobile doesn't make any difference, although, at the moment, the legal firm acting on their behalf have issued a Writ of Summons on behalf of purchasers of Ford vehicles, but they state that they will also be issuing a Writ of Summons for both GMC and Chrysler vehicle purchasers. This of course, applies ONLY to original owners of new cars which also includes demonstrators that were purchased with full factory warranty. This company is known as, Rusty Car Group, Box 164, Postal Station N, New Toronto 14, Ontario. You will be asked to sign a retainer form authorizing their legal firm to act as your solicitor in this matter, and they require a fee of $15. DASHWOOD, ONT Pre-Cast Concrete Steps and Porches and Ornamental Railings Your Autirbrited Deafer 237 3 3 81 I recently joined a tenant's association in our large apartment complex. Our landlord made it clear how much he hates our organization, which was formed to protect our rights as tenants, Soon after I joined, I received a notice to quit. As it is nowhere near the end of my lease, how can I protect myself? Last year, the Landlord and Tenant Act was amended to provide protection for tenants in circumstances like yours. Section 707 says that a landlord cannot regain possession of the premises if his reasons are not the right ones. Section 107 (3)(c),(d) expressly protect a tenant who has tried to enforce his ights against the landord or is in an organization designed to do so. The landlord cannot retaliate against you and his rights to ask for early termination of your lease had better be good if the notice to quit is to be valid.
