All the sewer construction has been deemed in working order and adequate under the standards set out by the Minis- try of the Environment. The clerk has sent register- ed letters to all the ratepayers advising them the sewers are ready for connection. Ratepay- ers have nine months from the receiving date of their register- ed letter to have their systems connected to the sewer. Hensall had been informed earlier this summer by. the Ministry of the Environment that the town would have to Rally Day service Rev. W. D. Jarvis conducted the Rally Day service in Carmel Presbyerian Church on Sunday and presented the following awards and seals for Sunday School attendance: One year — Karen Campbell, Leigh Soldan; two year seals — Robert Volland; three year seals — Brian Moir, Jamie Reid; 4 year seals — Tammy Bell, Ronalynn Bell; five year seals, Jerry Faber; six year seals — Donna Taylor, David Skea; seven year seals — Darlene Faber, Darlene Varley, Murray Taylor, Darran Moir; eight year diploma and Bible — Barbara Stretton; ten year diplomas — Gregg Sangster, Becky Baker, Sandra Nixon, Tammy Baker, Unit 4 meets Unit 4 of Hensall U.C.W. be- gan the fall term with a delici- ous pot luck dinner on Sept- ember 9. Mrs. James McAllis- ter chaired the teeing which followed. Mrs. Goerge Arm- strong gave an inspiring de- votional on, "Thinking about our friends and what they mean to us". She read from Luke 10 and mentioned the great love Jesus had for His friends Mary, Martha and Lazarus. She clos- ed with a poem and a prayer. Mrs. Tom Sherritt and Mrs. Laird Mickle provided the pro- gramme which was a sing-song accompanied by Mrs. Mickle. A humorous reading was given by Mrs. Bert Riley on "Aunt Lily trails the Absentees". Mrs. Mickle contributed a fine piano solo. Plans were made to quilt and provide flowers for the church for September. Hymn 502 was sung and benediction given by Mrs. J. McAllister. Mrs. Janice Bisback and Miss Cheryl Riley are holding the first meeting of the Hensall 2 4-H Club, "The Cereal Shelf" on Tuesday evening, September 21 at 7 p.m. at Miss Riley's apartment on Nelson Street. The Hensall Senior Citizens "The Three Links" met for their first meeting of the new season on Tuesday, September 14 and held a pot luck supper at the 1.0.0,F. Hall. Around 40 members sat down at the tables which were beautifully decorated with seasonal flow- ers. At the business session, chaired by Mr. Percy Campbell, which followed, one minutes silence was observed in memory of Glen Bell. It was decided to purchase a piano which was on loan from Miss Lettie Love and Mr. Campbell stated that 60 stacking chairs and 15 card tables had been purchased, also a projector and screen which had not yet been delivered. It was also decided that each member will pay 75c per meet- ing when euchre is played and 50e per member for other meetings. In October, the meet- ing date has been changed to the third Tuesday of the month, October 19 as other activities clash in that month. St. Paul's ACW The ladies of St. Paul's ACW held their autumn meeting at the home of Mrs. Ted Roberts. The president, Mrs. Frank Forrest opened the meeting with the members' prayer followed by the Lord's prayer. Mrs. Annie Reid read the Scripture and Mrs. Forrest and Mrs. Roberts gave the meditation The Litany was followed by the roll call answered by a verse with "Harvest". A Bible quiz was conducted and Mrs. Anderson closed the meeting with prayer. UCW views pictures The Chiselhurst UCW held their September meeting at the church, Mrs. Harold Parker, presided and opened the meeting with a poem "Lord Give Me Faith." The theme song was followed by prayer. Mrs. Rosa Harris presented the Worship on "Stewardship" taken from 2nd Corinthians. The business was discussed and it was decided to hold the annual bazaar on October'28. Mr. and Mrs. Earle Hackett,Stratford were guests and showed pictures of the trip they took to Hawaii last winter, which were both humorous and beautiful. The Meeting closed with prayer by Mrs. Parker, Mrs, Earl Kinsmen and Mrs. Jack Brintnell were hostesses when a delicious lunch was served. Amber Rebekah Lodge Noble Grand Mrs. Bertha MacGregor presided for the meeting of Amber Rebekah Lodge on Wednesday evening assisted by the Vice Grand Mrs. Dorothy Parker who reported for the visiting 'committee. A letter was read from Eric Luther in regards for the canvass for the Institution of the Blind. Mrs. Dorothy Parker and Mrs. Hazel Corbett volunteered to canvass. A letter was read from Pride of Huron Lodge, Exeter stating a "school of instruction" will be held in their Lodge Rooms on September 29 at 3 o'clock and 8 p.m, when all the members are asked to attend either sessions. Mrs. Betty Robinson, Past Assembly President of Ingersoll, will instruct the sessions. Supper will be served following the af- ternoon session. Birthday Greetings were ex- tended to the Vice Grand Mrs, Dorothy Parker. Several members expressed thanks to "Secret Pals" for cards received. Arrangements were made for the Installation of Officers on October 20 when the District Deputy President Mrs. Mary. Fisher of Exeter and her staff will be present. Personals Mr. & Mrs. Edgar Munn returned home after visiting at the home of their daughter and son-in-law Mr., & Mrs. Don Gooding, Parkhill and with their granddaughter Miss Debbie Gooding, Reg, N., who was holidaying from Moose Factory. Rev, Don Beck will conduct the 116th anniversary of Chiselhurst United Church Sunday Sep- tember '26 at 2 p.m. Mrs. Grace Campbell and Mrs, Ruth Townsend of Seaforth will con- tribute special music followed by a social hour. Mr. & Mrs. Bill Shaddick and Mark of London spent the weekend with the former's mother Mrs. Pearl Shaddick. Visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Schwalm, Mrs. Daisy Ivey and Mrs. Elizabeth Voil- and were Mrs. Margaret Thorn- dike of Clinton who was bowl- ing on a Kitchener T.V. show last Saturday; Mr, and Mrs, Gary Finlayson, Ronald, Randy, Cathy, Kim and Karen of Kippen; Mrs. Marion Dougall and Helen of Exeter; Mr. and Mrs. Al Ammerlinck of Sarnia; Mr. and Mrs. Bob French and Roy of Rosseau; Mr. and Mrs. Donald Coghlin, Debby and Paul of Fordwich; Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Robb of Clinton; Mrs. Margaret Coombs of Clinton; Mrs. Vera Johnston and John of Brucefield; Mr. Robbins of London; Mr. and Mrs. Des- mond Ivey of Sarnia; and Mrs, Dorothy Mason and Andrew of Huron Park. Hensall visitors were Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Clark, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Miller, Mrs. Irene Finlayson, Mrs. Hilda Payne and Mrs. Winnie Skea. Gerry Smith had the mis- fortune to fracture his right thumb while playing football at school last week. His hand will be in a cast for a month. make payment for the sewers by the end of 1976. Invoices were sent out in August to the ratepayers and residents were asked then to prepay the entire bill at a substantial saving or pay the first installment. Council has already passed a by-law that no outside water, eavestrough water or ground water can be allowed to drain into the sewer system.
