INSTRUCTORS REQUIRED Huron soccer club wins.,
In preparation for their up-
coming Michigan-Ontario
quarter-final cup encounter, the
Huron County mosquito soccer
team recently completed two
exhibition games.
At Grand Bend, Huron downed
Sarnia All Stars 3-1, with Dave
Murray, John Hicknell and Carl
Krohmer scoring,
Sunday, at the Stratford
Festival Field, Huron took on the
Stratford All Star Pee Wee team,
with the power of Stratford's
older age players making Huron
fight for a narrow 3.2 victory'
through goals from Sean Van-
Dongen, Brad Forbers and Dave
Murray.
Since the Huron County team
was formed two months ago, it
has played seven cup and three
exhibition games, boasting a 9-1
win-loss record and a total goals
count of 34-11. Next Sunday,
Huron will travel to Detroit to
Kadechukwins again,

One of the most consistent
winners at the Ironwood golf club
this season, Glenn Kadechuk
topped the "A" flight competitors
this week with a low gross of 80.
Runnerup in the low gross
department was Jim Guenther
with a score of 84. Barry South-
cott checked in with a 65 to post
the lowest, net score and Scott
Boss was next two strokes back.
The "B" flight low gross card
was turned in by Wayne Brun-
zlow with an 80, Next in line with
an 88 was Don Gifford. Don
Cowan's 61 was the low net in this
division, and Larry Bourne shot
a 69.
Joe Regier with a 90 was tops
for low gross in the "C" division
with Bob Forrest next with an
even 100. Stan Frayne shot a 61
for low net honours and Derry
Boyle was next with a 69. Dennis
Wright was named most honest
golfer.
Ironwood's first invitational
tournament is slated for this
Saturday and entries are still
being accepted this week by
calling the clubhouse.

The football season at South
Huron District High School gets
into full swing this week.
The junior and senior clubs
warmed up for the start of the
regular Huron-Perth Conference
season with a scrimmage against
Banting high school of London,
Monday afternoon.

schedule starts this afternoon,

Tuesday evening Mrs. Joan
Greenlee gave her home for the
September ACW meeting. There
were 12 members present. Mrs.
Mary Davis conducted a prayer
service. Rev. Mary Mills read the
scripture, Mrs. Hazel Davis read
the meditation from the "Living
Message." Mrs. Marg Carroll
read the minutes of the last
meeting in the absence of the
secretary Mrs. Marg Greenlee,
who joined the group later.
It was decided to give the profit
from the chicken barbecue and
sale of quilt tickets toward the
budget. Plans were made for a
wedding dinner to be served later'
this month. The mystery prize
donated by Viola Atkinson was
won by Mary Davis.
Mr. & Mrs, Clarence Davis
visited Mrs. Maurice Mac-
Donald at the home of her
daughter Mr. & 'Ai's. Pete
Sovereign, Lucan, Saturday
evening. Mrs. MacDonald is
recuperating there following
surgery at Victoria Hospital,
London.
Mr. & Mrs. Heber Davis were
dinner guests, Saturday evening,
with the former's sister Mr. &
Mrs. M. H. Elston, Centralia and
Mr, & Mrs. Jack Deibridge,
Exeter visited the Davis' Sunday.

Huron clubs travel to Stratford to
meet Northwestern from the
Classic City. The junior game is
slated to start at 2 p.m. with the
senior contest set for 3:30 p.m.
Saturday, it's off to Strathroy
for an exhibition doubleheader
with the seniors beginning at 11
a.m, and the junior game starts
at 12:30 p,m.
The first home games for the
local school teams will be

The Huron-Perth Conference
high school girls' basketball
season gets undereway this week.
At South Huron, the Junior and
Senior girls' teams ha.Ve been
practising since the first week of
school for a ten game league
schedule which is listed below.
All parents -and other in-
terested people are invited to
come to the high school for home
games. Game time is 2 p.m. and
each day both juniors and seniors
play, The schedule is as follows:
