charge with Rev. Douglas Stpry
of Grace United Church in
chargenfithe service, Rev, Allan
Johnston of Middlesex
Presbytery presented Rev.
Morden for induction.
Special speaker was Rev,
Wilson Morden of London„ his
sermon was entitled "What to do
until ' the minister arrives,"
before he gets there to comfort
you in sickness,, despair or
bereavement, this iwhat youlcan
do said Rev. Morden, try to fill
your mind with God, expose
yourself to as much inspiration as
you can find, derive inspiration
from cultivation of beauty, in
your church and in your world.
There was a large attendance
of viditors at this service, from
Middlesex Presbytery, also Rev.
Morden's former Pastoral
Charge of Sparta and Union.
Following the induction a get
acquainted hour was spent in the
church basement with the UCW
social committee serving lunch.
At St. Thomas Anglican Church
Rev. Mary Mills conducted
the;morning prayer and took her
sermon from St. Luke Chapter 6,
which dwelt on the quotations,
"Love your enemies and do good
to them Lend and expect
nothing back and you will be
greatly reww.ded; Give to
others and God will give to you; A
good man brings good, things
from his treasure, but a bad one
brings bad things out of his, for a
man's mouth speaks what his
heart is full of:Next Sunday there

The UCW held their September
meeting Wednesday evening in
the Church Hall, with Mrs. Jack
Noon presiding and conducting

vacationing in Northern Ontario.

celebrated their 25th wedding
anniversary with family and
friends in London on August 20.

have returned home fron a
fishing trip at Matheson, 40 miles
from Timmins.
Mrs. Budden spent the past two
weeks with friends in Toronto and
London.

Edmonton, Alberta, is visiting

The new project for the 4-H
club this Fall will be "The third
Meal" and will cover a variety of
topics including the changing
pattern of meals, casserole
cookery, special suppers and
table settings. The last meeting is
to be called "Come for lunch or
supper."

50th Wedding Anniversary
Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs.
Norman Purnell of London,on the
occasion of their 50th wedding
anniversary which was celebrated, Saturday September
11 in the Forester's Hall with a
reception and banquet in the

couple's family and catered to by

COF. Following the dinner a
dance was enjoyed.

Unit 3 IJCW visit
St, Marys Museum
Unit 3 of the United Church met
at St. Marys. Museum Wednesday
evening September 15 and after
touring the building returned to
the home of Mrs. Wm. Thomson
for lunch and a short business
meeting.

Mrs. Lloyd Mardlin and family
were Lloyd's cousin and her
husband, Dr. & Mrs. J.R.
Eschtruth of Kapariga Zaire
Africa whoareon furloughat their
home in Kinde Michigan,
Dr. Eschtruth is a missionary
and the only medical doctor in an
area of 40,000 square miles, with
a population of over 100,000
Africans depending on the
medical care of the 250 bed Piper
Memorial Hospital in his charge
with the assistance of about 20
nurses who are trained as "Little
Doctors."
"This is the concept of
medicine in an underprivileged
cpuntry", says the doctor,
"essentially when we finish with
them, they can diagnose and
treat 90 percent of the diseases
they see. In addition to the
hospital there are 18 rural clinics,
a Leprosy treatment centre and a
