A tour of the dairy barns on the
farm of Mr. & Mrs, Bill Mahon
and family was' the highlight of
the Agriculture and Canadian
Industries meeting of the Staffa
Wonnens' Institute convened by
Mrs. Lloyd Miller and Mrs.
Frank Hamilton, Wednesday
evening, August la.
The circular milking parlor
was something quite different
and new to most of the members.
Following the tour the fifteen
members returned to the home of
Mrs. Lloyd Miller for the
business meeting.
Mrs. Douglas presided and
opened with a poem "Here and,
There". Correspondence was
dealt with and articles were
handed in for the display at
Mitchell Fair.
Roll Call was answered by — A
pollution control which I use.
The Motto — Work makes the
wheels go round, but fun greases
the axle, had been prepared by
Mrs, Ross McPhail and was
presented by Mrs. Charles
Douglas.
Mrs. John Miller gave a
detailed report of the district
executive meeting ' and chose
"Cromarty" for her two minute
talk on a town or village in Perth
County. Hostesses for the evening
were Mrs. Cameron Vivian, Mrs.
Robert McCaughey and Mrs. Bob
Parsons.
Persona is
David and Terry Templeman
hosted the August meeting of the
Mitchell West Dairy Club on
Thursday evening.
Mr. & Mrs. Duncan Scott and
family are on a motor trip to the
western provinces.
Lyn Taylor, Kintail is
holidaying with Jeanna Lou
Elliott.
Mr. & Mrs. Jim Neilson,
Stratford visited Sunday with Mr.
& Mrs. John Templeman and
family.
Mrs. Ethel Lyall, Nancy and
David, Toronto spent the
weekend with Mrs. Sam Norris
It was nice of

from the area.
We know there was a rush of orders
sometimes but we hope no one was
inconvenienced. Pounds and pounds and
pounds of chicken were cooked up,
Crab, lobster, scallops, shrimp, fish 'n
chips were sampled by many,

Robert Norris had the
misfortune to break his right arm
in two places.
Mr. & Mrs. Jim Norris and
Judy, Brampton visited on the
weekend with Mrs. Sam Norris
and Mr. & Mrs. Bob Norris and
family.
Satoko Handa from
Yokohama, Japan is visiting for
a few weeks with Mr. & Mrs.
Bruce Eaton and family. She and
Jean Eaton first met in
Bangladesh early in 1974 when
they were both enrolled in French
classes, Satoko feturned to Japan
in August 1974 and worked at the
Japanese pavilion in Okinawa.
She arrived in. Los Angeles a
week ago and travelled by bus
across the United States, Satokn
says she loves Canada especially
the open spaces and uncrowned
conditions.

wedding celebrations in Atwood
Hall for Mr. & Mrs. R.O. Spence
Atwood.
Mr. & Mrs. John Scott and Mr,
& Mrs. Jim Scott attended the
wedding of Jim Hunter and Pat-
sy Kyle at Niagara Falls on
Saturday.
Carolyn Wallis, Stratford and
Debbie Benbow, London
holidayed last week with Mr. &
Mrs. Alton Wallis.
Mrs, Ferne Gauthier and boys
Barrie visited with Mr. & Mrs.
John A. Damen and other
relatives in the community this
past week.
Mr. & Mrg. Earl French and
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Morley were
guests of Mr. & Mrs, Howard
Morley Southcott Pines Sunday
at a family gathering.
Mr. & Mrs. Lyle Worrall Den-
field visited Tuesday evening
with Mr. & Mrs. Hamilton
Hodgins.

Visitors with Mr. & Mrs, Will
Oestricher last Tuesday after-
noon and evening were Mrs,
Harry Greenwood and Miss
Eileen Greenwood, Strathroy.
Mr. & Mrs. Walter Weber
visited recently with Mr. & Mrs.
Eric Eagleson of Little Current,
Manitoulin Island.
Little Scott Weber spent last
week with her grandparents, Mr.
& Mrs. Walter Weber, and
Shelley.
Flowers in the sanctuary of
Zion United Church Sunday mor-
ning were from the funeral ser-
vice of Harry Flynn. Rev. Bruce
Pierce preached on the presence
and power of the Holy Spirit,
Fred Eilber, Lancaster, Ohio,
is guest at the home of Mrs.
Mabel Fahner.
Mr. & Mrs. Jim Howard have
moved into Gertrude Ratz's
home on Main Street.
Mt. & Mrs. Lloyd Hey have
returned from a vacation at Hay-
inony Park near Stratford.
Paul Fydenchuk motored to
Thunder Bay Saturday to see his
nephew,Callum Jowal, son of
Mr. & Mri, Lawrence Ludwar,
Mt. & Mrs, Peter Martin,
Ruthie and Lisa enjoyed a
weekend at Bob-Lo Island.
Miss Ella Morlock spent three
days last week in Hamilton with
Mrs. Mildred Bell, The trip in-
cluded a visit to historic
Niagara-on-the-Lake, and atten-
dance at a performance of The
Applecatt at the Shaw Festival
Theatre.

The August 13rinsley UCW
meeting was held at the home of
Mrs. Wilbert Lewis on 'Monday
evening. Mrs. Lewis opened with
prayer, Scripture reading by
Mrs. Jack Hodgson and the
meditation by Mrs. George Lee.
Mrs. Wilbert Lewis gave a
reading on "country Blessings",
Mrs. Hodgson took over for the
busiziess and roll call was
answered by le members. Mrs.
Westhaver closed the meeting
with prayer. Group 3 ladies serv-
ed lunch.
Jane Corbett has returned
home after an enjoyable summer
working in England.
Mr, & Mrs, Earl Hamilton and
family were Sunday evening
visitors with Mrs. Violet Allison.
Nile Foster is home for a few
days at Greenway.

attended the 4-H achievement
Day at Parkhill, Saturday.
Nancy Tindall was guest of
Penny Smith, Centralia. Penny's
father and mother, Mr, & Mrs.
Harvey Smith, took the girls to
Niagara Falls for the weekend. ,
Heber Davis returriedhome on
Tuesday. He had been a patient
in Victoria Hospital the past two
weeks.
The Davis-Dickins reunion was
held Sunday at the St. Patrick's
Church grounds with 40 in atten-
dance. Mr. & Mrs. Frank Dickins.
Ailsa Craig president and
secretary conducted a business

London, Mr. & Mrs. Jack Garrett
Ilderton, convened a sports
programme representing the
"Dickins" side of the reunion.
Next year the Davis families
are on the executive, Heber
Davis as president and Mrs.
Davis secretary. Mrs. Earl
Greenlee and Mrs. Bob Tindall
sports.
Mr. & Mrs. Jim Barker invited
the reunion to their home for
1977. Mrs. Fred Dickins was
elected treasurer.

Saintsbury people attend reunion

Mr. .& Hrs. Clarence Davis and
Mr. & Mrs. Cameron Davis were
guests Sunday with Mr. & Mrs.
Wayne Love and Fayeanne at
Pine Lake. They were
celebrating Mrs. Davis' birth-
day,
Marylou and Robert Tindall
spent Thursday evening with
their aunt and uncle Mr. & Mrs.
Hugh Davis.
Last week Rev. Mary Mills
assisted by Mrs, Carol Quinton,
Mrs. Marg Carroll and Mrs. Gee
conducted summer school for the
pupils of St, Patrick's Sunday
school and several friends from
the surrounding area.
Sunday, the children enter-
tained their parents with a skit
and songs.
Thursday Mrs. Hugh Davis
entertained the group to a pool
party.
Mr, & Mrs. Harry Carroll
returned home from Detroit
where they attended the wedding
of their niece,
