Newlyweds Mr. & Mrs. Scott
Hortop are leaving this week for
Haiti where Scott will be working
as administrator of a children's
hospital at Port Au Prince,
A native of Streetsville,
Ontario, for the past three and a
half years Scott Hortop has been
a resident of Ailsa Craig and
active in the community. On
graduation from York University
in Toronto he accepted the
position of administrator of
Green Gables Nursing Home in
Ailsa Craig and Parkshill.
With the building of the new
Chateau Gardens Nursing Home
in Parkhill, Scott became in-
volved in the construction
program and was responsible for
the building program there until
it's opening and has until recently
been involved in the supervision
of the construction of the Chateau
Gardens Retirement Community
on Oxford Street in London.
While visiting in Haiti last
March, he was offered a position
with the hospital at Port Au
Prince which is currently in-
volved in T.B. immunization of
the Haitian children in an at-
tempt to wipe out the widespread
disease there,
Married in July to the former
Sally Stratford of Whitby,
Ontario, the couple decided to
accept the invitation and move to
Haiti.

Church choir hosted a
miscellaneous shower on
Tuesday evening for Beverley
Madden, daughter of Rev. & Mrs.
Ewart Madden, who became the
bride of Brock Burr, son of Mr. &
Mrs. Ronald Burr, both of Lucan,
on Saturday.
Many members of the Church,
and friends, honoured Bev. with
lovely gifts. She was assisted by
two of her bridesmaids, Carrie
Burr and Mary Madden.

welcomed the guests and
members of the choir served
lunch as those present regrouped
themselves according to birth
month.
An aunt of the bride, Miss
Dorothy McBain of Edmonton
was among the guests.

three-week tour of England and
Scotland.
