The Village of Hensall will hold
a Public Meeting at the
Hensall Arena
Mon., August 23
8:00 p.m.
• To set up a fund-raising committee to raise
sufficient funds to bring our arena up to
1975 building standards.
If the Village Council and Parks and Recreation
Board do not get enough support on this project,
this notice will become a reality.

Mr. & Mrs. Dan Kipfer and
little Danny have taken up
residence in the new home they
built in Brucefield. Mr. & Mrs.
Brian Campbell have moved in
the apartment left vacant by the
Kipfers.
Rene and Julian Boogemans
successfully completed the
Auxable River Canoe race on
Sunday, coming in first. The start
was made from Tri-county
Bridge, Greenway and finished at
Grand Bend. The weather man
co-operated with bright sunshine
although it was a little cool. Mr. &
Mrs. Rene Boogemans en-
tertained the paddlers af-
terwards.
Mr. & Mrs. Harvey Hyde have
rdturned from a three week tour
of the Maritimes,' Newfoundland
and St. Pierre island. They just
missed hurricane Belle when
crossing to Newfoundland,
Mr. & Mrs. Gordon Schwalm,
Mrs. Daisy Ivey and Mrs.
Elizabeth Volland had many
visitors last week. Mrs. Evelyn
Yachnoyits and family, also Mr.
& Mrs. Oran Baird and family, all
of Oshawa, Mr. & Mrs. Tony Etue
of London, Mr. & Mrs. Eldon
Johnston and John of Brucefield
who took Mrs. Volland to visit
with Mr. & Mrs. Etue in London.

in honor of her niece, Miss Gloria
Adkins, whose marriage took
place Saturday. The guest of
honour received gifts during a
social hour when refreshments

been a patient in St. Joseph's
Hospital London was moved to
South Huron Hospital, Exeter
where she is recuperating.
Mrs. Don MacLaren, Jodi and
Brooke were recent visitors with
Mrs. Bertha MacGregor.
Dies in Richmond B.C.
Mrs. Ralph Walters, the former
Florence McDonald of Hensall
passed away at Richmond B.C.
last week. The deceased spent
her early years in Hensall,
moving to the West following her
marriage. Surviving 'is her
husband, one daughter and two
sons.

spent at the Hensall Legion Hall
on Monday when over 60
relatives, friends and neighbours
gathered in honour of Miss Nancy
Stretton, bride-elect of this week.

moved to the Thompson dwelling
on Main street Monday, which
was recently vacated by Mr. &
Mrs. Dan Kipfer.
Mr. & Mrs. Joe Flynn returned
home from a camping holiday at
Silver Falls;
Mrs. Al Thompson returned to
her home in Toronto after visiting
with Mr. & Mrs. Jack Consitt.

Harold Snell of Exeter will be in
charge of the service next Sunday
at 10:00 a,m,
Glenn Bell who is a patient in
St. Joseph's. Hospital, London is
reported improved in health.
Mr. & Mrs. Don Rigby of
Blenheim spent the weekend with
Mrs. Harry Snell.

and Mr. and Mrs. Sim Roobal
have been 'visiting their fiends
and relatives in the district. On
Thursday, they went to Wood-
stock and visited with Mr. and
Mrs. John Konyenkyk and while
there met with other friends from
their home town in Holland.
On Sunday Mr, and Mrs. Arie
Roobal and Mr, and Mrs. Don
dodds and family of Seaforth
visited the Goderich Huron
County Pioneer Museum and
drove around Ben Miller and
'countryside. Later, accompanied
by W. and Mrs. Sins Roobal,
_they went to Ridgetown and
drove around Rondeau Park and
stayed overnight with Mr. Anth-
ony Gelderland. On Saturday
they visited with Mr. and Mrs.
Case Van Der Heuvel of God-
erich,
Mrs, Laird Mickle spent Sun-
day with her daughter and son-
in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ross
McMilland and family of South-
cott Pines near Grand Bend.

Mr. & Mrs. Bill Tinney have
sold their residence on Queen
Street to Mr. & Mrs. Richard
Heaton of Huron Park. They are
presently building a new one
storey ranch-style home on their
adjoining vacant lot. Mr. & Mrs.
Tinney will he residing at the
home of Homer Campbell until
building is complete.

who have taken up residence in
Bill Tinney's house. We hope they
enjoy their new community.

following the heavy rainstorm,
which resembled a cloud burst, in
