Free swim set
for Lucan pool
By BRIAN McHENRY
Friday, between 2 and 4 p.m. a
free swim period will be offered
to the young people of Lucan.
This free swim has been donated
by the Lucan Women's
Institute.
Adult swimming has been
attended by a few regulars who
are taking advantage of the
whole pool to get in some fitness
swimming.' Adult swimming
continues for the next two weeks
on Tuesday and Thursday 6 p.m.
to 7 p.m.
Swim registration for the
fourth Red Cross swim program
is the lowest of the summer with
57 swimmers enrolled. Cool
temperatures, and cold water has
definitely affected both the swim
program and the recreational
swimming.
Thursday, August 17, 4:30 to
6:30 p.m. the Lucan Swim team
will be competing against London
Northridge at the Northridge
pool. The team still lacks
members, but are ready to enjoy
the competition regardless.

your spark plugs are a sign
that you've delayed your tune-

Waiting for someone? Turn off
the engine. Even one minute of
idling time uses more gas (at
zero miles per gallon) than
restarting the car.
If your front tires are ex-
cessively worn on the outside
shoulder, but smooth, the
wheels have excessive caster.
Bring the car in for a front-end
alignment.

score a 7-6 exhibition victory over
the Crediton juniors, Wednesday.

second inning was produced on a
home run by Paul Brooks. In the
