Use hot water wisely
Save energy...Save money
Apart from home heating, a family usually consumes
the most energy in producing hot water.
Here are just a few small things you can, do, that can
add up to a considerable energy saving. Turn off
hot water taps so they don't drip, fill clothes washers to
match the size of the load, wait until you have a full load
before using a dishwasher and remember showers usually
require less hot water than baths. Try not to use
more hot water than you need.
The Cascade electric water heater
will give you a dependable supply
of hot water, but it's up to you
to use it wisely.

Larry Ryan went the first six

Perry Pooley came on in relief in
the seventh and gave up a single
run and three hits the rest of the

Al Beatty, an Exeter forward

first half and John Meuller fired
two more before half time. From
this point Exeter never looked
back. Al Hearn and Rob Fink-

the second half.
Tim Stover the Exeter goalie

he handled the ball only four

Fords suffer shutout
The most outstanding player
for Exeter was goalie Doug
Brooks who kept the score to a
respectable level by making
several outstanding saves.
The Fords, however, still have
:a chance to win the title as they
have beaten Goderich, who have
beaten St. Columban, who in turn
• have defeated Seaforth.
Therefore, if the Fords remain
unbeaten in their final games and
the other three teams continue in
their present trend anything is
possible.

meet Wingham next.

finish and was deadlocked at 8-8
after five innings of play.
Crediton gained a lead with four
runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Dennis Preszcator was the top
Crediton batter with three hits to
his credit. Paul Pooley was next
with a triple and single and Ken
Govers contributed a home run.

The Exeter Fords received a
setback Tuesday in their peewee
soccer hopes when they were
beaten 3-0 by a superior first
place Seaforth team.
Never getting on track th,t_
Fordslet two goals in during the
first half of play and a third in the
latter half. The main problem
seemed to be passing, a skill
which the Fords have shown a
capability for. Seaforth exhibited
more hustle and were able to run
the Exeter players of the ball
time and time again.
The Exeter Centennial Soccer
club avenged an, earlier season
defeat at the hands of the Lucan
squad by defeating that team 5-0
in Ausable league action Sunday.
It was a simple case of Exeter
taking the play to Lucan and
beating them to the ball every
time. Over 80 per cent of the play
, was in the Lucan zone. The
Exeter forwards executed play
after play and the score could
have been much higher had it not
been for some good work by the
Lucan defenders. But the Exeter
attack couldn't be stopped.
Doug Hoffman scored a hat
trick to reach 22 goals for the
season, and Doug Brooks
recorded his seventh shutout to
help the Exeter Fords defeat
Grand Bend 6-0 at the Canners'
Field, Thursday in minor soccer
play.
The Fords, back .9n track after
their defeat by Seaforth last
Tuesday, showed that they can
work as .a team, Team play has
won games before, but the un-
selfish attitude of the team in
setting up goals for team mates

enable substitutes to play longer
than usual contributed in a fine

Hoffman scored goal number
20 to lead, off for Exeter, this was
followed by Jeff Fuller scoring
his third for the season.
Fuller alternated on both wings
causing .a great deal of concern to
the Grand Bend defenders who
were never sure as to which side
he would be coming from. At half
time the score was 3-0 Hoffman
scoring his second of the game.
In the second half Hoffman
scored his third goal, Fuller his
