Netherlands pair visit area
Mr. and Mrs, L. Eringa of
Dronten, the Netherlands, are
spending a few weeks with the
latter's brother and family,Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Van Wieren and
also visited other relatives in
Pembroke and Beechburg over
the weekend.
Mrs. Irene Kennedy of Grand
Bend, accompanied by Mrs.
Nagel, a physiotherapist from St.
Joseph's Hospital, London visited
with Mrs. Daisy Ivey whom she
had met while she was a patient
in St. Joseph's.
Andrew Mason, Huron Park, is
spending 10 days with his
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John
Skea.
Mrs. Janice Bisback and
Victoria had a pleasant holiday
visiting with the former's
mother, Mrs. Roger Whitman at

Gloria Adkins
About 50 neighbours and
friends gathered at the home of
Lionel Wilder recently for a
shower in honour of Gloria Jean
Adkins, bride of August 14. Bingo
whiners were Marjorie Consitt,
Julia Consitt, Sandra Coleman,
Mrs. Orland Reichert, Helen
Jacobs, Joyce Taylor, Agnes
Madge, Peggy Willard, Mrs.
Vanden Boomen. The door prize
was won by Mrs. Stewart Black-
well.
Following Bingo, gifts were
presented to Gloria Jean by
Brenda and Laura Wilder. After
opening the many lovely gifts,
Gloria Jean charmingly thanked
all present. Lunch was served by
Mrs. Wilder, Elaine Weido and
Brenda and Laura Wilder.
Relatives of the bride were
entertained at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Howard Adkins on
Sunday.

Mr. Wilbert Dilling, who was 80
on July 26, celebrated his bir-
thday on July 25 with a family
gathering and afterwards ac-
companied his son Clarence to
Sarnia where he stayed for a
week. On his return, Mr. and
Mrs. Clarence Dilling, Christa
and Brian visited with Mrs. Anna
Dilling who is a patient in the
Queensway Nursing Home.

Combined church service was
held in Carmel Presbyterian
Church on Sunday conducted by
the Rev: W. D. Jarvis with Jack
Caldwell presiding at the organ,
Service next Sunday August 8 will
be in charge of Rev. Harold Snell
of Exeter at 10:00 a.m.
Mr. and Mrs. Brian Collins and
Sarah, of Kitchener, visited
recently with Mrs. Collins
mother, Mrs. Laird Mjckle.
Mrs. Laird Mickle and her
granddaughter Judy Mickle,
visited last Saturday evening
with the former's daughter and
son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ross
McMillan and family at Southcott
Pines where they are holidaying
for six weeks.

Oud-Beyerland, Holland, arrived
Sunday night for a month's visit
with Mr. and Mrs. Sim Roobol
and Mr. and Mrs. Don Dodds of

reunion
Over 50 descendants of the
Parker families attended the
annual Parker reunion held at
Riverview Park on Saturday.

for next year; president, Doug
Wein, Whitby; vice-president,
Kenneth Parker, Hensall;
secretary, Mrs. Don Dalton,.
Seaforth; sports committee, Mr.
:& Mrs. Clarence Ruston,
Stratford and Mr. & Mrs. George
Parker, Hensall. The reunion
next year will be held at the
community park, Hensall.

called on W. L. Mellis last week.

Caldwell attended the Durham-
Damant wedding in Hamilton on
Saturday.
NURSING GRAD
Jane Heal, daughter of Mr, and
Mrs. John Heal, Hensall, has
recently graduated from the
Lambton College Diploma Nur-
sing Program in Sarnia. She has
accepted a position at New Port
Richey Community Hospital,
Florida.
