CARVED WOODEN TOYS made by the trainees of Arc industries in Dashwood were a favorite at their craft and bake sale last Wed- nesday, Above, Jane Gillespie of Crediton examines the toys with Shawn while Cameron Deline of Huron Park, who works at the centre, looks on. This Week's Extra Specials At One of these ten pretty girls will be named Miss Friedsburg in Dashwood Friday night Arc Industries in Dashwood was a busy place on Wednesday as the trainees there put on a craft and bake sale. The most popular of the craft items proved to be the wooden carved toys which the trainees make so well, They vary from turtles to school buses to cars to log trucks complete with six logs which can be loaded and un- loaded at will, All the toys have rounded corners and are so smoothly finished there is no chance of children picking up slivers or harming themselves on sharp points. These toys are reasonable priced which also added to their popularity. The trainees also had a table of baking they made themselves which was sold very quickly much to their pleasure. However, they were kept busy the remain- der of the day serving coffee. it uice and fruit bread to their' visitors as well as giving guided tout-s around the building. Parents of the trainees also do- nated a good deal of baking and time helping trainees make cor- rect change and keeping things moving.
