at the school for a brief visit and
rediscovers his wartime
sweetheart, Mme. Dubonnet.
After all the misunderstandings
are sorted out, the couples are
reunited for the inevitable happy
ending.
The Boyfriend is a good-
humoured, tuneful and af-
fectionate tribute to the in-
nocence and high spirits of the
Charleston, Cloche hat and short
skirt days. Hit songs from• this
show include "I could be happy
with you", "Won't you
Charleston with me", and "It's
nie-Ver too late to fall in love".

Beauvais, in the role of Mme.
Dubonnet, Miss Beauvais, who

Broadway revival of The
Boyfriend, also played Mme.
Dubonnet at New York's Cherry
Lane Theatre for a two-year run,
and has performed in several
other Boyfriend productions in

perhaps, best known to

portrayal of Dolly Levi, in last
year's smash hit Hello Dolly.

Boyfriend include David Dunbar,
Robert Lander, Catherine
Leckie, Peter Purvis and James
Saar. Other roles will be taken by

This week, the Huron Country

Boyfriend was a hit when it
opened in London, and later won
similar enthusiastic reaction on
Broadway in 1954,
It is a witty, stylish cartoon of
the 20's. The Boyfriend takes
place on the French Riviera,
where Polly, a millionaire's
daughter, is attending Mme.
Dubonnet's fashionable finishing
school. She meets and falls in
love with Tony, a delivery boy,
who later turns out to be the
wealthy son of Lord Brockhurst.
