Centralia United Church
Women were joined by ladies of
surrounding communities for a
bus trip to Sarnia, Wednesday of
last week. They enjoyed a tour
of the Sarnia-Lambton Parkway,
the Generating Station, the
Parks, and saw the Craft exhibit
in the library.
Before dining at the Laurentian
they paid a visit to the Pen-
wardens Store in Sarnia. There
was time for shopping before
visiting the Candle Factory
where the art of candle making
was demonstrated.

Lloyd Morgan is convalescing
at his home after having surgery
in St. Joseph's Hospital, London,
Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Hirtzel
accompanied by their grand-
daughters Debbie and Dalphine
Hirtzel of Parkhill returned
home last week after vacationing
at Fishermen's Cove.
Mr. & Mrs. Jim Rimmer and
family of Parkhill were Saturday
visitors with the former's
parents, Mr. & Mrs. B. J. Rim-
mer.

member of the parish at Our
Lady of Mt. Carmel Church,

near future and in both cases the
bride-to-be is from our area. Jane
Marie Glavin, the daughter of
Mr. & Mrs. Patrick Glavin will
become the wife of Anthony
Lansbergen, the son of Mr. &
Mrs. William Lansbergen of
Zurich, Pamela Rau, the
daughter of • Mrs. Alvin Rau ,
will become the wife of Arithon'Y
DeJong, the son of Mr. & Mrts,
Cornelius DeJong of Seaforth.
We in Mt. Carmel would like to
publicly express our hope that
Charles Dietrich quickly
recovers from the bout of illness
which forced him to make a brief
stay in London's St. Joseph's
Hospital,
Two visitors from Windsor
making a short stay with the
Darling family of Mt. Carmel are
Lisa Brooks, Mrs. Darling's
cousin, and Lisa's friend, Ellen
Tingey. The two girls came from
Windsor by train last Saturday.
Friday, July 9, was a rather
gloomy day for the Mt. Carmel
boys baseball team. They suf-
fered a 23-7 defeat at the hands of
Brinsley. Hopefully, the boys'
team spirit will prevail and they
will not let the bitterness of
defeat dampen their chance for
victory in the future.
