Beside Mr. Jeffrey is his wife, Anne, and in front from the left is, Dennis, Paul, Peter, Pam and Pat, Committees are named to hear progress reports on the 1978 International Plowing Match, which will be held just east of Wingham. Host farmer is Jim Armstrong. Howard Datars, of Dashwood, chairman of the local committee for the 1978 match, was also chairman at the Clinton meeting and fielded questions from the audience of nearly 100. Jim Armstrong of Wingham in- troduced the guests from other counties. Roy Pattison of East Wawanosh introduced the chairmen of several important committees under his direction. They include: Executive com- mittee, Howard Datars, Dashwood, chairman; Roy Pat- tison, East Wawanosh and Allan Campbell, RR 1, Seaforth, vice- chairmen; Earl Hildersley, Clin- t on , treasurer and Jim Armstrong, RR 4, Wingham, OPA director. Ray Scotchmer, Goderich, chairman, publicity; Hugh Flynn, Clinton, parking; Earl Hildersley, gates and tickets; Neil McGavin, Walton, tractors; Mrs. Jim Armstrong, RR 4, Wingham, ladies' committee; Jim Aitchison, Lucknow, teams and horses; Bob Gibson, Howick, banquets; Bill Cruikshank, Fly- ing Farmers; Barry Mulvey, Belmore, lands committee; Alex Robertson, Wingham, tented ci- ty. Farmstead and home improve- ment, Glenn Miller, Stephen Township; bands and parades, George Hildebrand, Seaforth; special events, Bill Leeming, Walton, president of the Huron Plowmen's Association; historical committee, Ernie Talbot, Kippen; health and sanitation, Doug McNeil, Goderich. Demonstrations will be taken care of by the Huron Soil and Crop Improvement Association. Chairmen have yet to be named for the county exhibit committee and the committee which will look after lunches to be sent out to the fields, as well as the billeting committee. Don Pullen of Clinton, the Huron Ag. Rep., is a key man in the entire organization in his capacity as secretary. EMMA J. BROWN Mrs. Emma J. (Ballath) Brown, formerly of Teeswater, passed away in South Huron Hospital Exeter Wednesday Jtily 7 in her 92nd year. She was the widow of the late Morris Brown. Surviving is her daughter, Mrs. Helen Theil, Hensall; son Bert, Windsor, brothers Fleming and Arthur, Wingham; Walter, Teeswater; and sister Miss Mabel Ballath, Hamilton. Also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral service was held from the McPherson Funeral Chapel, Teeswater, Friday at 3:30 p.m. Interment was in Teeswater cemetery. DANIEL SULLIVAN Daniel Sullivan passed away at the Queensway Nursing Home on Friday July 9 in his 69th year. Funeral service was held on Monday from the Bonthron Funeral Chapel at 2 p.m., con- ducted by the Rev. H. Van Essen of Exeter. Interment was in Hensall Union Cemetery. HAROLD FREDERICK SIMPSON Harold Frederick Simpson of Main Street, Exeter, passed away at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on Thursday, July 8, 1976, in his 63rd year. Beloved husband of Dorothy Daters, Dear father of Gwen (Mrs. Murray Coward) of Woodham and Carolyn (Mrs. Don McCabe), Goderich.• Dear brother of Lillian Evans, Van- couver, Edward of Toronto. Also survived by four grandchildren. The funeral was held from the R. C. Dinney Funeral Home, Main Street, Exeter, Saturday, July 10 with Rev. Glen Wright, of- ficiating. Interment in Exeter Cemetery. PETER V. BRAND Peter V. Brand passed away at his residence, Hensall, Ontario, on Sunday, July 11', 1976, Beloved husband of Catharina Hermans and the late Dianne Mies, in his 77th year. Dear father of Goff, Cees, and John, of RR 3, Clinton, Adrian, Gilbert and William of RR 2, Hayfield, Martin of Atwood, Paul of Holland Lan- ding, Sister Ludwina of Pem- broke, Mrs. Patrick (Corrie) Kehoe of Oshawa. Son Jack predeceased in 1971. Three brothers and three sisters and 29 grandchildren survive. The funeral was held Tuesday from St. Boniface Church, Zurich with Rev. Father Durand officiating.
