Renew lease
on public school
By JOY SCHEIFELE
AILSA CRAIG
At the December 15th meeting
of the Midlesex County Board of
Education, the renewal of the
Ailsa Craig Public School lease
with the Village of Ailsa Craig
was approved for the year 1976.
The administration was directed
to start procedures for the sale of
the building and property next
year.
Fire strikes Craigholme
addition
Tuesday, December 23rd, the
Ailsa Craig Fire Department was
summoned to the Craigholme
Nursing Home to put out a fire on
the roof of 'a new addition
presently under construction.
Earlier in the day, workmen
had put fresh tar on the roof.
About 9:15 p.m, flames were seen
on the roof of the addition. No
damage was suffered to the
nursing home itself.
Evidence indicates that
children had been playing on top
of the roof shortly before the fire.
