The Puppet theatre, "No Strings At- tached is made up of Richard Keean, Cheryl Smith, and Mary Ransberry, all from Perth County. Bread from many countries baked by 4-H members By MRS. HUGH MORENZ SHIPKA Nine tables of progressive euchre were in play Wednesday evening at Shipka Community Centre. Winners were: ladies high, Mrs, Verne Sharpe, Parkhill; ladies low, Mrs. Art Hodgins; men's high, Cliff Kenney, Crediton; men's low, Verne Sharpe, Parkhill. The east group were in charge of refreshments, Tickets were sold on a mat, which was donated by Ward Neeb of Zurich, and won by Lorne Devine, Personals Mr. 4 Mrs. Lorne Devine visited Wednesday in Mount Forest with Mr, & Mrs. Don Neal, Michael and Shawn, Mr. & Mrs. Cliff Russell and Kathy visited recently with her parents Mr. 4 Mrs, Edgar Webb of St. Catharines, Mrs. Arnold Keller is a patient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London. Fred Weiburg returned home Saturday to his daughters, Mr. & Mrs, Lorne Devine, after spending a few weeks in Waterloo with his son Hubert and family. IRVIN RADER 1::0,6,SHWOOD Dashwood Club, the Freidburg Pumpernickels completed six meetingsin the project "Let's Bake Bread," These meetings were held in the members' homes when the girls learned how to make basic roll dough and sour dough. They discussed bread's characteristic of different countries and made delicious dishessuch asHungarian Bubble Ring; Parker House Rolls; Barbequed Hamburger Stacks; Cheese Puffs and Puffy Dutch Mini-cakes. The leaders, Violet Bender and Leone Riddell have very suc- cessfully taught bread making techniques, the use of bread and rolls in family meals, different types of bread and how to use them. The next meeting -will be held December 29 which will be pot luck supper Personals Robbie Hoffman, son of Mr. & Mrs. Bob Hoffman had the misfortune to fall while playing at Stephen Central school and break his arm last week, Fred Schroeder, one of the original 15 members of Dash- wood band passed away in Galt last week. His wife, the former Frieda Vincent also of Dashwood had passsed away in October, The funeral service for Fred Messner was held in Zion Lutheran church, Saturday, Dear Santa, Hello Santa Claus. Pall bearers were Albert and Elgin Rader, Melvin Stade, Harold Schroeder, Bob Hayter, and Lorne Klein- stiver, Spike Nagel, Anne Baynham, Susan and Chris, Oshawa, are holidaying with Mr, & Mrs. Ernest Koehler and other relatives. Susan and Chris will spend Christmas here, The Happy Gang bowling team held their Christmas party Friday, December 19th with their husbands as guests, at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Wilmer Pfaff. Euchre was played with winners as follows: ladies high, Maxine Miller; men, Lorne Becker; low, Martha Miller and Jack Cock- will; lone hands, Anthony Martene. A pot luck meal was served. Mrs. Martha Miller is spending some time with Mr. & Mrs. Melvin Stade and Sherrie. Keith Miller and Marilyn McNeill were united in marriage at Zion Lutheran Church Friday evening, December 19th. Rev, Marvin Bars performed the ceremony. Christmas decorations in Dashwood have been beautiful and with the promise of a turkey for the best decorated front door by Dashwood WI, the judges found they had a hard decision to make. Mr. & Mrs, Stuart Wolfe were picked as winners. In spite of the stormy weather, Santa Claus arrived at the community centre and the children received treats and watched movies. Gertrude Musser of London was a guest at Laymen's Seminar at Oral Roberts University, Tulsa Oklahoma. Mr, & Mrs. Earl Kursinky Palm, Michigan, and Mrs. Nora Koessel, Detroit, attended the Miller-McNeill wedding and visited with Mr, & Mrs. Albert Miller. Mrs. Lovina Miller, Zurich. The spent the weekend with Mr. & Mrs, Reinhold Miller, The Youth & Junior Choir of Zion Lutheran Church sang carols Sunday evening at South Huron Hospital; Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall; The Bluewater Rest Home, Zurich and several private homes Thanks to the generosity of members of Zion Lutheran Church the Ladies Aid were able to pack 30 shut-in boxes, Mr, & Mrs. Dave Rader and Stacey attended the Christmas party of Mrs. Angeline Scott at Shipka Community Centre, Sunday, for members of her family. Sixty-five were in at- tendance. Friends honor Greenway couple By MANUEL CURTS GREENWAY The White Gift service in the United Church held Sunday morning was well attended. Assisting the Rev, Harley Moore were the following Sunday School members, Orno Adair, Eric Bullock, Glen Bullock, Randy Turner, Paul Lagerwerf, Chris Eagleson and Ann Steeper, An evening of fellowship was held in the Corbett Community Centre, Friday evening, when Mr. & Mrs. Tommy Ryan were honored by their neighbours and friends, having recently moved to their new home in Parkhill. Mr. & Mrs. D. Crowther have recently sold their home in Corbett. Elda Brown, London, was a weekend visitor with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. Ross Brown. Mr. & Mrs. Eldon Young, Lucan, were Sunday visitors with Mrs, Vera Brophey. Manuel. and Evelyn Curts visited on Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Grace Stewardson, Craigholme, Ailsa Craig. By the way: With the Christ- mas season approaching, we've had no problem reducing our wallet. But now is the time to set the bathroom scale in front of the refrigerator. Young people carol to elders By KATHY COOPER ELIMVILLE The Thames Road and Elim- ville Fellowship, Young Peoples and Hi-C groups met at Thames Road Church briefly before going out carolling, Several car loads went to the homes of the elderly and shut-ins after which they returned to the church for lunch. The Thames-Road and Elimville CGIT met at Elimville Church from where they took a hay ride. They went carolling the homes of shut-ins, Mr. & Mrs. Don Kyle and boys of London, Mr. & Mrs. Doug Johnston and family of Lucan and Mr. & Mrs. Doug Kyle of Hensall celebrated Christmas at the home of Mr. & Mrs, Alvin Cooper Saturday evening. Mr. & Mrs. Russell Morley visited Sunday evening with Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Cooper. Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Cooper celebrated Monday evening with Mr. & Mrs. Alvin Cooper. Dear Santa My name is Patty O'Toole.
