At first glance it appeared that
ten year old Jonathan Arnel and
Dean Bender would be ant of play
for the rest of the hockey season.
However, when they jumped
aboard brightly painted cart
bearing the sign, "Peter Puck
says Help Stamp Out Violence in
Hockey'," the message was
clear!
Young Joan Reece also caught
the spirit of the day and towed a
gaily decorated Christmas tree
along behind the family riding
mower taking advantage of the
weathgr's failure to provide snow.
Even the five and six year old
boys in the village enriched the
parade as they happily manned

was much appreciated,
Although there were few out-of-

Seniors hold party
Willis Dorfman was winner of the
lone hand.
Wednesday afternoon many
accepted the invitation of the
Shillelagh Motor Motel at. Lucan
to a special program of music by
the Mollie McGuires,
Sunday was the special
Christmas dinner for the seniors
by Ailsa Craig's Lion Club. A
record of ninety-five seniors were
guests this year. Wives of the
Lions cooked the turkeys and all
the trimmings and took them to
the Town Hall. Seniors were then
served at gaily decorated tables
by the Lion Club members
themselves Christmas cake and
cookies topped off the meal,
Many then concluded the day
by attending the United Church
choir production of "The Other
Wiseman". Over and over again
comments by the seniors were
heard, "ft was a most delicious
dinner. Just a perfect day".
The seniors plan to meet the
second Wednesday in January
again for another round of
euchre.
East Williams School
Annual Christmas concert
The school auditorium was well
filled for the annual Christmas
concert at the East Williams
Public School at Nairn on
Tuesday night. It was necessary
for a few of the late corners to
carry in additional chairs to seat
themselves, but all went home
with the feeling that it had been a
most enjoyable evening.
Much work went into the
concert by both the children and
staff at the school.
The Primary choir under the
direction of Mrs. Carol Pickering
got the evening off to a good start
singing, "Santa's Using Zebras
Now" and "The Bell That
Couldn't Jingle".
The two Kindergarten classes
led by teacher, Mrs, Bonnie
Butler, captured the hearts of all
as they sang "What Do We Have
At Christmas Time?". Each child
brought forth a Christmas object
from behind his back at the ap-
propriate time and placed it on a
huge paper Christmas tree held
by each of two children.
Mrs. I. Jackson's grade one
class recited the St. Luke version
of the Christmas story, con-
cluding with the carol, "Away In
A Manger".
A musical version of "The
Little Gingerbread Boy" was
performed by Mrs. Margaret
Tweddle's grade 1 and 2 class
with both excellent singing and
acting.
Again the audience was
completely captured with Mrs.
Pickering's grade 2 & 3 per-
forming "The Three Bears", in
song and story.
The audience discovered what
might happen if Santa took ill on
Christmas eve when Miss Lynn
Sinclair's grade 3 and 4 class put
on the musical play "How Mrs.
Santa Helped Mr. Santa." The
group then climaxed the evening
with "Mary's Boy Child."
The auditorium was at-
tractively decorated b Mrs.
Dinnin's Grade 6 class.
