By PAUL SALMON Don't let the size of our little hamlet fool you! This festive Christmas season sees Mt. Carmel as a very busy place. Mr. & Mrs. Wilfrid Hogan anxiously await the gathering of their family at their Mt. Carmel residence December 23, for traditional Christmas celebrations. It sounds like it will be a very happy but hectic time for the Hogans, who will be en- tertaining many members of their family, including Jack Hogan, Mr. & Mrs. Jack McCann and family, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Mittleholtz and family of Exeter, Mr. & Mrs. Jerry Hartzman and sons of London, and Mr. & Mrs., Bill Inson and their daughter Jodi. Another large family gathering is expected at the Mt. Carmel home of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Dietrich. Besides ' sons Joe, Chuck, and Dave, who will probably consume large quan- tities of Christmas dinner, the Dietrichs will be joined by their daughter Jo-Anne and husband Richard Muegge from Chatham, and daughters Liz, from London, Mary-Lynn also from London, and Theresa from Woodstock, Their daughter Eleanor and her husband Peter Eckert, along with the -Eckert's daughters, will likely travel from their home in Kitchener and join the rest of the family on Boxing Day. Mrs. Catherine Morrissey looks forward to celebrating Christmas in Amberley,,- with her daughter Winnie Desjardine, and son-in- law Hubert. IVIrs. Morrissey's son, Jack, and his wife Angela, are entertaining their daughter Angela-Mary Hoover, and son-in- law Douglas. The Hoovers are extra-special guests, since they have travelled all the way from Vancouver, B.C., for the oc- casion. Although the family of Nick Jeromkin Jr. of Mt. Carmel will be enjoying the traditional Christmas festivities December 25, they are spending a portion of their Christmas holiday in a very unique way. December 27, the Jeromkins are leaving for a stay at their cottage at Lake Prom Earl, Bob, Jim and Pat wv.i.o..m.twmwm-eitewmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmwmw.mwmwewt, trit A • -VW ?), A Santa's singing Out our sincere thanks to 1) , all our customers and friends. A Best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year FLOYD MARTELLE — an instructor at ARC Industries gets Christmas greetings from Santa at the party held Saturday. Floyd, who is physically handicapped, donates his time to the Center helping the trainees as an instructor. T-A photo, Christmas, a daily event Lots of activity at Mt. Carmel looking forward to having my great aunt, Annie Elliott, join us for Christmas dinner. Luckily, mother does get a chance to leave her duties as my secretary long enough to enter the kitchen and prepare somethingreally greaton special occasions! After all, even she needs a break. Perhaps the only thing. that makes me sad during this time of year, is the fact that this time for love and good will must be held during a particular part of the year. December 25, particularly, is a day ofspiritualcelebrations. But what of the other three hundred and sixty-four in our year! The time to celebrate Christmas is now, a week from now, and virtually always. The Christmas spirit should fill us all the time, not only for a few weeks in December. When it is hot and muggy outside and nerves are near the breaking point, that is also a time when people need to be filled with the Christmas spirit. Christmas is a time when people are kind and helpful to others, but these "others" may need a helping hand at any time of year. Christmas should not be an an- nual event, but a daily event, in which the spirit of giving, loving, and caring is strong in all of us., Highway 21 South 4VARgrAMIAVAI:VrAMANiv?..ki WAI .c•I'A?MANrW,416 Aq*.te(eAtfir tIV:41FAIR$4 ttiv;r4tAtl APAi A?1,4 4v4,i t:A:41 q.4.1AT(ss Igq14 ZqM.07/4 AMArgiIANAti...tAftt 6 6 Grand Bend -6 lk A 0: • a 41 SA'S 1 McKerlie Automotive Ltd.
