The Exeter Times-Advocate, 1975-12-11, Page 164 Ducks, mice and clowns, the
reindeer and sleigh; elves, and
living Christmas trees, three
little pigs, a wolf, and glitter
everywhere at the seventh an-
nual Exeter Santa Claus parade
last Saturday, provided an ex-
citing and fun-filled day for
young and old alike.
Santa was almost forgotten
there was so much to see—
forgotten until he handed out
candy to the boys and girls who
watched movies at the Exeter
public school after the parade.
Still it was Santa's parade
sponsored by the Chamber of
Commerce and after he got his
faulty microphone working; his
"God Bless You's" and "Ho, Ho,
Ho's echoed everywhere.
There was no snow for the
event but that had its hidden
merits too — for the clowns from
Skateland in London had good

people marching and playing
their instruments, the costumed
cartoon characters and little girls
dressed up like Christmas
presents, were spared the wet
chill of melting snow.
Yes it would have been idyllic
to see great white flakes flutter
down upon the shoulders of pretty
cheerleaders and prancing
Clydesdales, But then again,
Santa had sunshine, and the
people, floats and onlookers from
miles around convinced him the
Christmas season has not
melted away.
While all the participants made
the event the success it was,
certain entries pleased judges so
much they awarded cash prizes
of $75, $50 and $25 for first, second
