If time is really at a premium
this Jiffy Cranberry Bread is a
dandy.
Jiffy cranberry bread
1 pkg orange cake mix OR 1
pkg honey bran muffin mix (the
cake mix slices better, but the
muffin mix slices beautifully if it
is still slightly frozen).
1 cup finely chopped nuts
3/4 cup whole berry
cranberry sauce
Prepare mix according to
directions on package. Fold in
cranberry sauce and nuts, Spoon
batter into well greased bread
pan and bake at 375 degrees for
40-50 minutes.

Having had such, good success
with Onion Casserole Bread last
week I decided to try Raisin
Casserole Bread this weekend. It
certainly is a quick way to get
home baked bread; mine was out
of the oven in just over two hours
from when I started it,
Raitin casserole bread
41/4 to 43/4 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
2 pkgs yeast
1 cup raisins
1 cup milk
if2 cup water
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) margarine
1 egg
Mix 11/2 cups flour, sugar, salt
and yeast, Combine milk, water
and margarine until warm.
Gradually add to dry
ingredients and beat 2 minutes.
Add egg and 1 cup flour or enough
flour to make thick batter. Beat 2
minutes. Stir in enough flour to
make stiff batter. Cover, let rise
in warm place until doubled in
bulk about 1 hour. Stir batter
down, Beat in raisins, (Because
the batter is sticky I greased my
hands and turned it otit on a
greased area of my counter top
where I kneaded it for a minute
or so.) Turn into 2 greased 1 quart
casseroles, Bake in moderate
oven 350 degrees about 45
minutes.

The total amount collected for
the cause was $285.00, ap-

How to care for
your diamonds
With a little care, you can keep
your diamond looking as new and
brilliant as the first day you wore
it. Here are a few tips!
Clean diamonds sparkle and
glow because the maximum
amount of light can enter and
return in fiery brilliance. To
clean your diamond prepare a
small bowl of warm suds with
any mild liquid detergent. Brush
the pieces with an eyebrow brush
while they are in the suds. Then
transfer to a wire tea strainer
and rinse under warm water. Pat
dry with a soft, lintless cloth or
gift-wrapping tissue paper.
