Mr. Jarvis pointed out
Christians celebrate the
realization of that dream each'
year on December 25, but
Christians also remember and
celebrate Christ's living presence
every day of the year.
He continued by saying to
dream is necessary to our sur-
vival but dreaming is not enough.
He pointed out that many
blessings enjoyed today have
come because people dared to
dream but were also prepared to
take action to make their dreams
a reality.
Rev. Jarvis concluded by
quoting from the book of
Revelations, "There shall be no
more death, neither sorrow nor
crying, neither shall there be any
more pain, for the former things
are passed away,"
He stated Christians hope and
dream for the day of the perfect
kingdom of God.

Much as there is to be said for
baking something right from
scratch, some of us just don't
always have the time to do this, I
find myself continually loeoking
for short-cut methods and if one
uses a little ingenuity it's
amazing what tasty fare you can
come up with,
Creamy Chocolate Pie is quick
to make and still tastes super,
Even your mast discriminating
guest will think you've apent
hours, preparing it.
Crea my Chocolate Pie
Prepare 1 pkg (41 oz) jello
chocolate instant pudding as

Sprinkle with nuts if desired,
Chill at least one hour.
I've often thrown these Easy
Macaroons together just a few
minutes before I expected friends
for tea. They're great for holiday
cookies, too. 'Just divide the
batter and drop a few drops of
coloring into each to make a
variety of rainbow cookies.

This week, I tried this Casserole
Onion Bread, It turned out sur-
prisingly well. We had it warm
with meat loaf, baked squash and
a tossed salad, The next day I
brought it to work and made
corned beef sandwiches for three
young starving reporters who
grabbed it up and asked for more.
Don't do as I did though. In my
usual haste I grabbed a package
of mushroom soup instead of
onion and had it thrown into the
liquids before I noticed it.
However, I was able to scoop
most of it off and the little bit that
did go into the mix didn't seem to
matter.

Rev. Wilfred Jarvis entitled his
sermon, "A Dream Come True".
He said human beings have
always dreamed dreams. The
Jews dreamed of a day when they
would no longer be a wandering
people but would live in a per-
manent community. This dream
was realized when David united
the kingdom of Judah and Israel
and made Jerusalem the capital.
A dream was also realized
when under Solomon the first
temple was built. But the
greatest dream of the Jewish
people was the dream of the
Messiah.

Equal play meet

Do women have equal play?
will be the subject under
discussion at a public meeting
called for women by Exeter's
recreational director Jim
McKinlay next Wednesday
evening in the Exeter Public
School staff lounge at 7 p.m.
Women's groups have been
campaigning for 'equal pay for
equal work' but so far there has
been little concern about the
leisure time of women.
In a study prepared by the
Ontario Recreational Society, it
is pointed out that recreation for
women falls sadly short of that
provided for men.
In a recent recreation survey it
was established that both men
and women have approximately
35 hours free time a week but the
facilities and programs available
for men far outstrips those
available for women,
Mr. McKinlay, says he is calling
the meeting for Exeter women in
order to examine what
recreational opportunities there
are for females and to determine
if there are some inadequacies
and what can be done about
them.
He says, "I think in the past
we've been prone to just go along
with what we did last year at-
titude and it's time to take a good
look at our program for women
and girls."
