The sounds. of a bagpipe
heralded the entra nce ot the head
table to the Lebanon Forest
Masonic Lodge annual Ladies'
Night held at the. Kirktart-
ilVoadham Ceintnunity Center
last Saturday night.
The affair, the second After it
was. reinstated last year
following a lengthy absence, is an
Annual get together for both
members of the. Lodge and their
guests.
It was well attended this year,
with 265 people coning out, to
dance to. Country Unlimited, a
band from Dashwood,
Carl Mills, a member of the
Granton lodge, piped in the head
table as he made an appearance
in full Scottish
Don Webster, convener of the
dance, said it was not a private
affair but those who wished to
attend had to be invited by one of
the Lodge's 150 members.
The Lodge's next activity will
be their annual church service to
be held at the Presbyterian
Church in Exeter on November
23.
40th anniversary
In honour of their 40th wedding
anniversary the family of
Thomas and Olga Hern held a
family dinner for close relatives
at Kirkton Community Centre,
with open house afterwards for
relatives and friends.
Along with their nine children
and 13 grandchildren guests
present were Mrs. Here's
Niksch, Hobart, Indiana; Mr. &
Mrs. Arthur Hern and Mary
Ellen; Mrs. Hazel G. Bern,
London; Mr. & Mrs, Lloyd Hern,
Miss Minnie Hern, Mrs, Elsie
Earl, Exeter; Eleanor Salmon,
Dashwood.
The family presented their
parents with a La-Z-Boy chair
and ruby vase They were also the
recipients of many other gifts and
cards.

Mrs. Louise Creery introduced
Mrs. Marion Drynan who spoke
on International Women's Year.
Mrs. Pym thanked her.
Mrs, Layona Delbridge gave
the motto "A Priceless possession
is a heritage". This was also the
grandmother's program.
Prizes were given for different
categories and were won by Mrs,
Hazel Coward, Mrs. Isabelle
Pletcher, Mrs. Olga Bern, Mrs,
Lavona Delbridge, Mrs. Marjorie
Dykernan, Mrs. Kay Morley,
Mrs. Mary Hera.
Mrs. Leona Hern presented
each grandmother with a small
gift,
Mrs. Leona Bern read a poem
on grandmothers and Mrs. Olga
Bern read the history of the Hern
family,
Mrs. Creery gave a nutrition
report on soybeans.

TL. Scott opened the meeting by
reading, from the Bible and a
paper on peace.
An article on 'Remembrance
was given by each member. Mrs.
M. Lamond presided for the
business. She and Mrs. T. Scott
gave a report of the fall rally of
the Perth Presbyterial.
The December meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs. Douglas
when the annual reports will be
given.
The Bible study, Lord above all
Gods, was in charge of Mrs.
Douglas concentrating on
Colossians 2:6-15. The topic
Huron Feathers, a Presbyterian
beach mission at Sauble Beach on
Lake Huron, was taken by Mrs.
. Mervin Dow. The meeting closed
with Hymn 649, From Ocean unto-
Ocean and the Lord's Prayer in
unison.
