The November meeting of the
United. Church Women was held
on Monday evening with 23
members and three visitors
present, Mrs, John ?yin,
program convener, opened the
meeting with the theme "What Is
Our Mission" and a quote by
Martin Luther King. Doris Elford
sang a solo accompanied by
Janet Bray, A reading "Johnny
Entertains" was given by Mrs.
Paul Passmore.
Mrs. Pym spoke a few words on
Mission, then called on Mrs.
Margaret Epp, who spoke on her
work. She invited those in-
terested to visit the Epp Home.
Mrs. Lloyd Ballantyne thanked
Mrs, Epp and presented her with
a gift.
Mrs. Lee Webber opened the
business of the meeting. It was
decided to put on the program in
December 1976 at the Blue Water
Rest Home, Zurich, and to send
$25.00 to Five Oaks.
Mrs. Lorne Ballantyne read the
slate of officers for 1976. Lunch
was served.

Women's Institute contributed to
the program by playing a medley
of old favourites on the mouth
organ. Mrs. Coleman from
Seaforth Women's Institute gave
a humorous reading entitled,
"Hiram on the Pullman."
The hostesses, Mrs. Lloyd
Miller, Mrs. Cameron Vivian and
Mrs, Harry Reynen, served a
dainty lunch at the close.
Nifty Needlers
The Staffa Nifty Needlers held
their seventh meeting on October
25th at the home of Mrs.Doris
Jeffery, The meeting opened with
the 4-H pledge followed by the
minutes of the previous meeting.
Nine members answered the
roll call by telling one place to use
the French Knot. The next
meeting will be at 9 a.m. on
November 8 at Mrs. Jeffery's.
Mrs. Joyce Vivian discussed
the uses of the french knot that
were given in the roll call. Mrs.
Jeffery demonstrated how to
mitre a corner and the members
practised with paper.
Hibbert Community Young
people held a rally in the Family
Life Center on Sunday evening
with Miss Patricia Hanna, (a
worker with overseas students)
Miss Wilma Welsh, (a recently
returned missionary from
Taiwan) and Rev. M. MacLean,
synodical superintendent of
Missions for Manitoba as guest
speakers.
