Tentatively set
week for women
The week of November 16 to 22
has been tentatively set as a time
to officially recognize Inter-
national Women's Year in
Exeter.
Councillor Lossy Fuller
presented that motion at Mon-
day's council neeting and it was
seconded by Councillor Barb
Bell.
"Does anyone dare oppose it?"
Mayor Bruce Shaw asked of his
fellow male cohorts. None did.
During the week, it is hoped
that the new OHC senior citizen
apartments on Sanders St. will be
officially opened. They will be
named in memory of the late
Helen Jermyn, the first woman to
serve on Exeter council,
Organizations planning
programs during the week are
also being encouraged to gear
their topics to the Women's Year
theme.
The date will be confirmed
when the Ontario Housing Cor-

proceed with plans to open the
senior apartment.
