THOMAS GORDON'S "Parent Effectiveness Training Program" There will be 8 sessions of 3 hours each beginning on Monday, Oct. 20 7:30 p.m. The program director is Mrs. A. Shiels. The course fee is $40.00 ($75.00 per couple); the fee includes the textbook and workbook. The program is highly recommended. Interested persons should register at the school by telephone or in person on October 20. It is possible to register on October 27 having had one session to learn more about the program. 1. L. The girls answered the roll call "What is your favourite bread?" HEBER DAVIS SAINTSBURY Mr. & Mrs. Jim Barker ob- served their 25th wedding an- niversary, they spent the weekend at Bracebridge and visited Jim's cousins, Mr, & Mrs. Don Kelly. Sunday evening at dinner time the Barker family, Mr. & Mrs. Stephen Flonders, London and Gary and Jean took their parents, also Mrs. Lorne Barker, Lucan, Mr. & Mrs. Heber Davis Mrs. Flossey Dickins, Exeter and Mr. Terry Smith out for the meal followed by open house at their parents home, About 45 friends and relatives gathered to surprise the bride and groom of 25 years. They received many notes of congratulations and gifts. On the Sunday previous Mr. & Mrs. Harry Hardy Lucan took the Barker's out for dinner. Mrs. Wayne Carroll a patient in St, Joseph's Hospital London was able to come to the home of Wayne's parents for Thanksgiving dinner Sunday. Misses Renny Hodgins, Lucan and Penny Smith Centralia were guests over the weekend with Nancy and Marylou Tindall, Nancy was guest with Penny Smith earlier on the weekend. Mr. & Mr. Bob Tindall and family and Penny Smith attended the fall fair at Brigden, Monday. where they showed their Belgian horses and came home with several ribbons. By MRS. Members will again contribute to the Children's Aid Bursary. Mrs. D. Haines commented on the bus trip to the National Convention, Miss J. Pengilley made the presentation to Mary Edith Holland, the winner of the Huron County Scholarship, Huron South will be hostess for the 1976 County Rally. Kippen East Mr. Don Pullen, Huron County's Agriculture Representatiye was guest speaker at Kippen East Women's Institute meeting which was held at the home of Mrs, Charles Eyre in Egmondville, Mr. Pullen discussed farming in Huron County stating that Huron had the most improved farm land of all the counties in Ontario. He also commented on the services available. He was introduced by Mrs. R. Bell and Mrs. G. McLean thanked Mr. Pullen and presented him with a small gift. Mrs. Ernest Whitehouse was in charge of the program and opened with a reading "Yesterday". Mrs. H. Caldwell commented on the motto, 'Take time to stand and stare at the wonders everywhere," The roll call was answered by naming a product we would lack if the farmer never came back. Mrs, G. Drummond Public Relations Officer presented a gift to Mrs, McGregor, Mrs. Beane, Mrs. Collins and Lynn Alderdice, 4-H leaders of the garden club. Mrs. H. Caldwell gave the current events and Mrs. V, Alderdice gave the report of the County Rally held in Belgrave, Mrs. Al Hoggarth, vice president, chaired the business portion and gave a poem "What is a far- mer?". Horace Greenstreet has returned home after being a patient in St. Marys Memorial Hospital for some time. & Mrs, Allan Elston of Centralia, Mrs. George Davis and Mrs. James Kirkland of Exeter visited Sunday with Mr, & Mrs. Harold Davis and Mr. & Mrs. Miller McCurdy. Mrs. Jack Urquhart, Mts. Wm, Blackler and Mrs. Maurice Blackler attended the open house celebration of Mr. & Mrs, Ed Skoby's 40th wedding an- niversary at their son's home in Stratford. Mr. & Mrs. John McElrea were in Northern Ontario last week and attended the funeral of Mr. Stewart 1VIcElrea of Blind River. Many from the community attended the ball game between the Blanshard Midgets and Teeswater at Teeswater, Sunday night. Mrs. Ross Francis and Mrs. Stuart Skier were the Kirkton Institute members attending the training school for the short course of "Salute to Vegetables,".
