Mark golden wedding
of Hensall area couple
Mr. & Mrs. Russell Erratt,
Hensall, celebrated their Golden
Wedding anniversary Friday. A
dinner was held by the family,
Saturday at Goshen United
Church,
Many friends and relatives also
called at their home to extend
congratulations and best wishes.
They were married at the
Varna manse on October 10, 1925;
by the late Rev, J.J, Durrand.
Mrs, Erratt is the former Pearl
Stephenson, daughter of the late
Mr. & Mrs, David Stephenson,
Varna.
Mr. Erratt is the son of the late
Mr. & Mrs. Henry Erratt, also of
Varna,

Toronto and Niagara Falls they
farmed on the Babylon line in
Stanley township until 1967, when
they retired, taking up residence
in Hensall.
The couple have one daughter,
Helen, Mrs, Bill Taylor of Varna
and five grandchildren.
Mr. & Mrs, Erratt are both
members of the Hensall United
Church.

conducted the church service on
Tuesday, Mrs. Van Essen ac-
companied him to the home.

latter's sister, Clara Feather-
ston.

evening at the home of her son,
Robert Lavery. Weekly visitors
were Roy Parlmer, Wilbert
Dilling, Mrs. Heywood, Mary
Goodwin, Mrs. Schenk, Cathy
Bell, Mrs. Faber and Milton
Lavery.
Miss Dorothy Farquhar,
Toronto, visited over the holiday
with her mother, Mrs. E.
Farquhar.
Mr. & Mrs. John Reid were
entertained by their family on
October 4 with a small dinner
party at the Bayview Inn, St.
Joseph and later at a reception at
the Hensall Legion Hall to
celebrate their thirty-fifth
wedding anniversary. About
thirty couples danced to music
provided by disc jockey Bob
Duard, and the couple were
presented with a beautiful
coloured family group
photograph and two bouquets of
flowers, gifts from the family and
friends. present.

Legion Auxiliary
plan Xmas party
The Ladies' Legion Auxiliary
held their regular meeting
Tuesday evening in the Legion
hall with Mrs. Mona Campbell in
charge. The members decided to
have a "Christmas Party" for the
children on December 7. and also
to have the draw for the
"Christmas Money Doll." They
will be canvassing for the
Institute for the Blind. The
mystery prize was won by Gerry
Chappel; the guessing prize by
Joan Beierling; and the at-
tendance prize by Iva Reid.

Hensall 4-H Clubs
elect officers
Hensall 1 and 2 4H Clubs met
Tuesday evening at the United
Church. Officers elected were:
president Dorothy Van Esbroech,
secretary Vicky Mann, treasurer
Janet Bilcke, telephone girls
Nancy McCurdy and Sandra
Tower. Bread making techniques
were discussed and the making of
Whole Wheat Freezer Bread was
demonstrated. Various names for
the clubs were discussed and the
fees were collected.
Rev. W. ID. Jarvis conducted
Thanksgiving service in Carmel
Presbyterian Church on Sunday.
The auditorium was decorated in
keeping with the holiday. The
choir sang an anthem under the
direction of the organist, Mrs.
Malcolm Dougall. There will be
no Sunday service on October 19
owing to anniversary service in
Caven Church, Exeter.
