Seniors start
at Centralia

The Senior Citizens meetings
Started the fall season on Monday
in the Community Centre with an
afternoon of cards and crokinole
followed, by lunch. Cecil Skinner
extended a hearty vote of thanks
to the United Church Women who
sponsored the get-togethers.

There were eight tables in play
at the first euchre party of the
season in the Community Centre,
Monday night with Mr. & Mrs,
Lawrence Hirtzel and Mr. & Mrs.
Larry Cronyn in charge.
Prize winners were; ladies
high score, Mrs. Della Hamilton;
lone hands, Mrs. Georgina
Webster; low, Mrs. Ralph
Lightfoot; men's high, Torn
Kooy; lone hands, Laverne
Skinner; low, Joe Carter.
Mr. & Mrs. Tom Kooy and Mr.
& Mrs. Ralph Lightfoot will
convene the next party.

Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd Morgan
returned home last week
following a few days vacation.
They accompanied Mr. & Mrs.
Robert Wilson of Highgate to the
home of their daughter and son-
in-law in Newtonville and went on
to Bancroft and Haliburton
returning home along Lake
Simcoe. They were impressed
with the beauty and colour of the
north at this time of year!
Mr. & Mrs. Lawrence Hirtzel,
Mr. & Mrs. Bill Hirtzel and
family of Exeter spent the
weekend at Clam Lake.
Mr. & Mrs. John Thompson
were visitors at the home of Mr.

meeting in the schoolroom of the
United Church on Thursday

Friday evening a shower was
held in the basement at Elimville
United Church for Miss Connie
Miners, bride elect.
Connie was escorted to her
chair by Joan Kerslake, Joan
then read the address. Ruth
Skinner gave a reading and
Laura Johns and Joan Pym
presented a musical skit,
Connie thanked everyone for
the gifts after which a social hour
was enjoyed.

several days touring Northern
Ontario last weekend. They
visited Mrs. Cooper's brother-in-
law in Timmins.

and family.
Mr. & Mrs. Wm. Routly at-
tended the funeral of the late Mr.
Wilson Brock in London on
Friday.
Mr. & Mrs. Floyd Cooper and
family travelled around the
Georgian Bay area this weekend.
They visited Manitoulin Island,
Sudbury, Midland and
Collingwood.
Sunday visitors with Mr. &
Mrs. Bill Routly were Mrs. Ina
Skinner and Laverne and Ruth
Skinner of Exeter.
Mrs. Don Parsons, Mrs. Alvin
Cooper, Mrs. Floyd Cooper at-
tended a shower for Miss Helen
Warren at the home of Mrs. Don
Kyle, London on Mohday
evening.
