party on Saturday afternoon in
the church basement. Mrs. Glenn
Lamport told a story and Mrs.
Lorne Ballantyne read a poem
and the Scripture Lesson, Mrs,
Lamport told a story 'by' using
pictures and the flannelgraph.
The children took their offering to
the front where it was received
by Mrs. Ballantyne.
Brad Borland graduated from
Baby Band and was welcomed to
the Messenger by the leader Mrs.
Murray Dawson.

Among those from the high
school who went on the science
expedition to the Bruce Peninsula
were Perry Preszcator, Mike
Pierce, Joe Verkerk, Paul
Fydenchulc and fierbara Katz.
About ten miles of the Bruce
Trail, walking on the Spruce Bog
and exploring shoreline caves
were highlights of the ex-
perience.
Open House
Sunday afternoon Rev, & Mrs.
Bruce Pierce held Open Rouse at
the manse.
Mrs. Lorne Preszcator, Mrs.
William Schwartz and Mrs.
Russell Finkbeiner invited guests
to view the rooms. .
Tea was served by Mrs. Hugo
Schenk, Mrs. Nelson Lamport
and Ella Morlock,
Mary Ellen Schlenker and
Linda Pierce were in charge of
the guest book.
UCW
Thursday evening the October
meeting of the UCW was held in
the Sunday school rooms which
were brightened with
Thanksgiving decorations.
In charge of worship were Mrs.
Cliff Russell, Mrs. Ervin Ratz,
Mrs. Lloyd Lamport and Mrs.
Clara Ratz. They gave readings
on the subject of thanksgiving.
Mrs. Bruce Pierce sang. The
singing of the solo and of the
hymns was accompanied by Mrs.
Lorne Preszcator.
A Thankoffering was received.
Mrs. Russell, president,
presided over the business
session. Roll Call was answered
by a verse on thanksgiving.
A donation of money was made
to Five Oaks,
Mrs. Lloyd Hey and Ella
Morlock were appointed to buy
mats for the entrance doors of the
church,
To pursue the matter of the
purchase of chairs for the Sunday
school the following committee
was appointed. Mr. & Mrs. Lorne
Preszcator, Mr, & Mrs. Nelson
Lamport and Mr. & Mrs. Lloyd
Lamport.
It was decided to adopt the
Pennies for Peace collection as a
fiftieth anniversary project.
Hostesses were Mrs. Emmery
Fahrner, Mrs, Ward Fritz and
Ella Morlock.
Personals
Mr. & Mrs. Sam King were in
Fordwich, Sunday to visit Mr. &
Mrs. Wallace Nixon,
Mrs. Vera Bullock and Mrs.
Mary Gower spent the weekend
with Mr. & Mrs. Edward Darbey
and Brian of Willowdale. They
called on Mr. & Mrs. Rocco
Auciello and Cynthia of Stouff-
'dile and Mr. & Mrs, Don Taylor
and family of Don Mills.
Guests at the home of Mr. &
Mrs. Ross Krueger last Saturday
were Cpl. & Mrs. Carl Krueger of
Newmarket. Cpl. Krueger is
Ross's brother.
Mr. & Mrs. Harold Fahner
have returned from a three-week
trip to California. They flew to
San Francisco then took a bus
trip of the state from there.

United Church Women
The United Church Women
held their October meeting on
Monday evening with 29 mem-
bers and two visitors present,
Mrs. Fred Johns opened the
meeting with a poem "Plenty to
Give," Mrs, Barry Miller read
Scripture and Mrs. Lorne
Ballantyne led in prayer. A
reading "Harvest and
Thanksgiving Season" was read
by Mrs. Ken Duncan.
Mrs. Barry Miller introduced
Joanne Dinney of Exeter who
made a Thanksgiving flower
arrangement. Joanne also an-
swered questions. The winner of
the flower arrangement was Mrs,
Donald Bray. Mrs. Ken Duncan
thanked Joanne. A vocal solo by
Doris Rock accompanied by her
mother Mrs. Fred Johns was
enjoyed.
The Thanksgiving offering was
received by Mrs. Miller,

"Let's Bake Bread" at the home
of Mrs. Judith Parker, -

Pym. The club was named "The
Doughy Dozen."

Into A Loaf of Bread."
All the girls joined in the group
work of making freezer whole
wheat bread.
TheHurondale1,4-H club met at
the home of Mrs. Helen Hodgert.
This project is "Lets Bake
Bread." The officers are
