Mrs. Elizabeth Schroeder,
Exeter was one 'of 30 supervisors
from across the province who
attended an Ontario County
library supervisors workshop
near Barrie last week.
The seminar, which involved
speakers workshops, discussion
groups and visits to other
libraries was held at the Ontario
government staff development

MR. AND MRS. JAN BREIMER
St. James Anglican Church in Parkhill was the setting for the
September 13 wedding of Elizabeth Dorothy Boyle and Jan Breinner.
The bride is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs, Leo Boyle of RR 2 Lucan and
the groom is, the son of Mr, and Mrs. Arend Breimer of Sloten,
Freisland, The Netherlands. Rev. F. Ralph officiated, Matron of honour
was Mrs. Jane Stewart of Dorchester and best man was Kent Stewart
of Dorchester. The couple will make their home at RR 1 Aliso

McDonough, editor of In Review
and Profile, probably Canada's
most knowledgeable person in
children's literature.
The purpose of the seminar was
to bring librarians up-to-date on
all aspects of library service,
Topics covered were:
Organization, evaluation and
utilization of library materials;
talking books; modern Canadian
fiction; children's literature;
reference material, At Huronview the Clinton
Christian Reformed Church held
their regular song service on
Sunday evening led by Mr, Dick
Roorda, Miss Jill Wheatley sang
a solo accompanied at the piano
by Mrs, Henderson.
William Farnsworth was
welcomed to the Home at Mon-
day afternoon's activities and
entertained the residents with
violin selections accompanied by
Mrs, Elsie Henderson, Mrs. Mary
Broadfoot, Frank Forest and
Norman Speir provided the old
time music playing several of the
old dance tunes such a Rye Waltz,
French Minuet, Waltz Country
etc,
Pictures of the centennial
parade was the theme for the
"Family Night" program. Dr,
Ken Wood of Clinton showed a
twenty minute film strip and
gave a very interesting com-
mentary of the 180 entries.
Coloured slides taken by Mrs.
Willa Taylor were shown and
musical numbers were provided
by William and Melvin Farn-
sworth accompanied by Mrs.
Henderson. Dr. Woods played
several piano selections and
accompanied for a sing-a-long.
Miss Bertha Diehl thanked all
those responsible for the
program on behalf of the
residents.
Plans are being made for the
coming year's programs and if
you or your group could help as
volunteers or with en-
tertainment, Huronview would
appreciate hearing from you.

Debra Ilene Kennedy and Gordon James Hern were united in marriage
Saturday, September 20, in Ailsa Craig Presbyterian Church with Rev.
Alex Simpson officiating, The bride is the daughter of Gordon and the
late Dorothy Kennedy, Ailsa Craig, and the groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Gerald Hern, RR 1 Granton. The bride's attendants were her
four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Braphey, Parkhill was matron of honour, Mrs.
Esther Chapman, London; Mrs. Mary Beatty, Aylmer and Miss Janet
Kennedy, Ailsa Craig were bridesmaids. Flower girl was Triciy Chap-
man, London, niece of the bride, Chris Hern, nephew of the groom was
ring bearer. Larry Hern, brother of the groom was best man. Ushers
were Gene Spence, Richmond Hill; Bob Snow, Hensall; and Floyd
Kennedy, brother of the bride, Ailsa Craig. Wedding music was
provided by Mrs. Jill Waters, organist, and Lora Lee Stewart, soloist.
After a honeymoon in the western provinces, Debra and Gordon will
make their home at RR 1 Granton,

Sarah (Sally) Ruth Dietrich and Ronald Wayne Desjardine were united
in marriage September 6, 1975 in Emmanuel United Church, Zurich, by
Rev. Bruce Guy, The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome
Dietrich, RR 3 Zurich and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elroy
Desjardine, Zurich. The bride's attendants were Barbara Dietrich, Mrs.
Connie Dietrich VanLeeuwen and Jane Gelinas. The groom's atten-
dants were Richard Fisher, Randy Dietrich and Pat Bedard. Ring
bearer was Robbie Dickert, nephew of the groom. Soloist was Harold
Borden and organist, Mrs. Milton Oesch. After a honeymoon to United

Trivitt Memorial Anglican Church in Exeter was the scene of the
September 19 wedding of Mary Ellen Horrell and Kenneth John Lee.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Horrell of Exeter and
the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. D. M. Lee of Exeter. Rev. G. A.
Anderson performed the ceremony. Bridal attendants were Jane Pen-
ninga and Kathy Harrell of Exeter and Annamarie Aartsen and Judy
DeBoeck of London. Best man was Ross Huntley of Exeter while ushers
were Rob Lee and Brian Horrell of Exeter and Doug Fader of London.
Following a wedding trip to Niagara Falls, the couple will live in EX-

presided at the opening of the
Pride of Huron Rebekah Lodge
on Wednesday evening assisted
by Vice-Grand Sister Jean
Hodgert.
Sister Helen Bell gave her
report on the years activities. A
report on visiting the sick was
given by Sister Jean Hodgert.
Pride of Huron Lodge has been
invited to the Paisley Ilderton
Lodge installation of officers on
October 27. The Exeter Lodge
was also invited to the Stratford
Lodge installation of officers on
October 7.
Installation of officers of the
Pride of Huron Lodge is to be held
October 15 when D.D.P. Mrs.
Irene Harnack and her installing
team of Goderich will be guests.
Apples

(about 1 pound)
1 cup chopped peeled apples
2 tablespoons lemon juice
5 cups sugar
Combine fruits and cook slowly
until tender (about 15 minutes).
Add lemon juice and sugar, bring
to boil and cook until thick (about
35 minutes) stirring frequently.
Skim, stir for 5 minutes, pour into
hot sterilized jars and seal.
Makes about 6 cups.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church was the setting for the August 30
wedding of Dianne Marie Adkins and William James Dietrich. The
bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Adkins of Exeter and the
grooi'n is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Benedict Dietrich of RR 1, Centralia.
Rev. J. Mooney conducted the ceremony. Mr. Paul Dietrich was
organist and Mrs. Annmarie Hoffman was guest soloist, Matron of
honour was Mrs. Karen Warwick with bridesmaids Lynda Dougall,
Mary Agnes Dietrich, sister of the groom, Ann Pinder and Audrey
Adkins, sister of the bride. Brian Finkbeiner was best man while Reiny
Freiter, Steve Faber, Gerard Dietrich, brother of the groom and Bruce
Adkins, brother of the bride, were ushers. The couple will reside in
