To consider
summer games
Exeter has been asked by
ministry of culture and
recreation officials to submit a
bid to play host to the 1976
regional summer games,
Mayor Bruce Shaw said he had
received a letter from the
ministry and while he said it
sounded like a good idea, noted
that the local facilities were
limited.
Recreation director Jim
McKinley explained that it was
not quite as large an undertaking
as some would think. He said he
had talked to ministry officials
and determined that Exeter
would probably be considered for
only one event - such as swim-
ming, track and field, or soccer.
McKinley said the event would be
a one-day affair,

There ARE electric cars on the
road - the US Postal Service
has a fleet of 'em. (But there
are even more gasoline
powered mail trucks)
You get smoother riding with
four-wheel independent
suspension - each wheel able
to follow the road variations -
but it's expensive.

Look for a new kind of oil filter
with a built-in time-release
chemical additive. It's said to
do away with the need for oil
additives and make oil last
longer,

If a fan belt is adjusted too
tightly, there'll be strain on the
water pump bearing.
Almost every tire has "wear
bars" molded into the bottom
of the tread design; they
appear when the tread is worn
below 1/16". If you can see
them (especially two adjacent
ones) it's time to replace the
tire.
