If you are 65 or older, you are
probably entitled to Ontario's new
Senior Citizens' Privilege Card.
These are the privileges
Ontario offers you.

There's a new Ontario Senior Citizens'
Privilege Card, which has been sent to
750,000 Ontario residents aged 65 and
older, It replaces the monthly drug benefit
card issued by the Ministry of Health.
In addition to free OHIP services, the
card provides more than 1500 free pre-
scription drugs to ail seniors receiving
federal Old Age Security or Ontario
Guaranteed Annual income System
(GAINS) cheques.
The new Privilege Card offers identi-
fication for:
• Free admission to all Ontario provincial
parks.
o Free or reduced admission to many
historical, cultural and recreational sites,
such as Ontario Place, the Ontario
Science Centre, Upper Canada Village
and the Royal Botanical Gardens.
• Special senior citizens discounts at many
business establishments.
• Special senior citizens rates on certain
public transit systems. (Check with your
local transit system to see if it offers
these.)
• Participation in community activities and
centres for senior citizens.
If you are presently receiving your
monthly drug benefit card, you should
receive your Senior Citizens' Privilege
Card automatically. Sign it immediately.
Without your signature, you cannot use the
card.
If you are 65 or older, and have lived in
Ontario for 12 months or more but have not
received your card by September 30, write
to:

If you are 65 or older, but have lived in
Ontario for less than 12 months, you may
apply for a temporary Privilege Card, It will

close to 16,000 in attendance
It was a fair day in Ilderton
Saturday and close to 16,40P
persons took advantage of the
opportunity to attend the 124th
annual Ilderton Fall Fair.
Despite a few sprinkles of rain
shortly before the gigantic
parade got underway at 11 a.m.,
the sun came out and provided
excellent weather conditions
which very few fairs in Western
Ontario could enjoy this year.
The fair actually began Friday
night with a talen show and
crowning of Miss Ilderton Fair.
Named as Queen for 1975 was-
Carolyn Adams. She bested eight
other contestants. Carolyn was

said the displays of flowers were
the 'best she had ever seen,
Awards for special floral
arrangements went to Carolyn
Adams, RR 4 Denfield, Ann
Jorna, Granton, Krlsta White,
ER 4 Denfield and Nancy Filson.,
In junior department
photography Carolyn Adams was
first, Vicky Hutler, RR 1 Arva,
won the essay contest and
Marilyn May, RR 2 Ilderton ,
entered the best fair book cover
design,
Winners in the baking
department were Mrs, Harold
Hodgins, RR 4 Denfield, Shirley
Wilkinson, RR 5 London, Eillen
Dods, RR 2 Kerwood, Mrs. Allan
Talbot, RR5 London, Mrs. J,
O'Neill, RR 2 Denfield, Charlene
Phillips, RR3 Denfield, Marian
Andrews, Ilderton, and Pat
Egan, Denfield,
Handiwork winners were Mrs,
W. Scott, Ilderton; Becky Robb,
RR 2 Ilderton, and Mrs. Florence
Kennedy, RR 3 Ilderton.

The three categories in the
amateur talent showwere won by
Cheryl Meredith in instrumental,
Lori Noyes as the top volalist and
step dancers Brent Smith and
Laura Foster in the specialty
division.
Fair president Meredith Robb
said the parade was the best he
had ever seen at the fair and the
entire event was "as good as any
we have ever had".
The parade which took 45
minutes to pass any given point
was led by Queen Carolyn
Adams, retiring Ontario Minister
of Agriculture and Food Hill
Stewart, fair president Meredith
Robb and ladies president Mrs.
William Frank,
Two dances were held Friday
night. One for young people was
in the Ilderton Community Hall
and the other in the new arena.
The annual fair dance was held
Saturday night in the arena.
The showing of beef and dairy
cattle Saturday was one of the
best ever seen at the fair.

Whitney Coates, Exeter exhibited
the top female and Robert
Manning showed the best bull.
The top exhibitor in Shorthorns
was Andrew Gaunt, Lucknow;
the best in Aberdeen Angus were
owned by Urlindell Farms,
Denfield and M and M Early,
Kerwood.On the dairy cattle side,
Mason and Laurie Fletcher,
Ilderton and Thomas Coursey,
Ailsa Craig were best in Guern-
seys, Medway Farms and
Duncan Fletcher, both of Ilderton
topped the Holstein category and
the best Ayrshires were exhibited
by George Mitchell, Thamesford;
Kingsmill Farms, London and
Thomas Coursey.
The top swine exhibitors were
Robdale Farms, RR 2 Ilderton; L
and H McPherson, Arkona; Hugh
Filson, Denfield; Bert French,
Palmerston; David Filson,
Denfield and Mary Beth and
Margaret McRae, Denfield.
Charles Halliday of Chesley
was the Clydesdale horse winner
and Orville Bestard, Thorndale
was best in four and six horse
hitches.
Winner in the sheep divisions
was Walker Bros, Glencoe and in
vats top exhibitors were
Phillippe Cranston, Denfield;
Dick Bolhuis Granton;' Jeanne
Farrtiti, "'Paris and Cathy and
Evelyn Mc Cutcheon, Parkhill.
The champion in the light horse
hunter division was Al Crosset of
Hyde Park.

Owing to a severe cold on the
part of Rev. Madden, Mrs.
Madden took the major part of
the Sunday Service leading a
"Hymn sing" and speaking from
Ephesians.'
Silent and spoken prayers were
offered for the bereaved families
of the village and community.
Flowers in the sanctuary were
from the funerals. '

Mrs. Greta Hodgins of London
was a recent visitor at the home
of Miss Agnes Anderson.
Mr. & Mrs. Fred Cunnington
spent a few days last week with
their daughter and son-in-law,
Mr, & Mrs. Lloyd Vogan in
Listowel and attended the golden
wedding anniversary of Lloyd's
parents, Mr. & Mrs. Roy Vogan.
Mr. & Mrs. Clayton Scheifile of
Kitchener were guests for a few
days last week with Mrs. Lorne
Hicks.
Murray Abbott returned home
on Sunday following several days
visit at the home of his son, Mr. &
Mrs. Don Abbott and son on
Manitoulin Island.
Mr. & Mrs. Borden Smyth
accompanied by Mrs. Hattie
Gaynor visited with the former's
aunt,Mrs.Harry Crone, in Strath-
mere Lodge, Strathroy on Sun-
day.
Mrs. Hattie Gaynor left on
Monday for her home in
Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia
following a two week's visit with
Mr, & Mrs. Borden Smyth and
her grandchildren Bruce and
Brenda Gaynor.
A number from here attended
a, the anniversary service in the
Zion West United Church on
Sunday morning and the af-
ternoon service of music in the
Kirkton-Woodham Community
Centre featuring the
"Sellwoods", a well-known group
of Gospel Singers.
World Communion, will be
observed during the service in
the United Church on Sunday
morning.
The first meeting of the season
for senior citizens will be held in
the Community Centre on
Monday afternoon October 6 at 2
p,m.

Fellowship club
The United Church Couples
Fellowship met in the CE Wing of
the church, September 25 with
thirteen couples attending.
President James Lockyer
presided for the hisiness. Tickets
for the dance at the arena
November 7 were given out and
Mrs. William Froats was to
contact a tuner for the piano.
Mr, & Mrs. Bob Patterson, Mr.
& Mrs. Howard Wright, Mr. &
Mrs. J. Lockyer led in the wor-
ship of Thanksgiving and in-
troduced Cecil Robb who showed
the film "Rogers Pass."
The October meeting will be in
charge of Mr. & Mrs. Gord
Froats, Mr. & Mrs. Ed Melanson
and Mr. & Mrs. Austin Timms.
